Class of 2019 waitlist

May 1st is here and no word yet. Has anyone heard if they will be taking candidates from the wait list? I believe last year at this time an email was sent to the wait list candidates. Objee can you provide any information if possible?

Hey if your at the academy can you walk down to admission and see what's going on, LOL

May 1st is here and no word yet. Has anyone heard if they will be taking candidates from the wait list? I believe last year at this time an email was sent to the wait list candidates. Objee can you provide any information if possible?

Nine appointments were tendered on Friday to applicants on the wait list and I imagine there will be more this week as the dust settles from the May 1st accept/decline deadline. All applicants currently on the wait list should be receiving an e-mail tomorrow updating them on the process.

Anyone get an E-mail updating them on the process?

Yes, son got email...said there were going to be some appointments offered to candidates on the wait list. Asked him to specify: A) Yes, I'd acccept immediately. B) I'd probably accept but would need a few days to decide. C) No, I no longer want to be considered for appointment.

Email then stated if they were offered an appointment, would probably within a few days or a week, and they'd get a phone call.

When did you get that? we haven't heard anything, my DS is on the waitlist scholars program. not sure if that's why...

JonhnMac42. if your DS in on the Scholar's wait list, the wait may be longer. Their reporting in day is much later, and I suspect Admissions is going to be concentrating on the direct appointments for now. I'm not speaking for Admissions here, and if I'm wrong I hope Objee steps in. Patience.

No word here, I am assuming that all wait list notifications have been made. It feels anti-climatic to not get a definitive no. On to plan A+

All applicants who accepted their spot on the wait list were notified (see e-mail below) that we would continue to fill vacancies in the class until June 1st. All applicants will be notified when the wait list has been closed. Obviously applicants who are no longer interested in being considered for an appointment should withdraw their name from consideration as was requested in the same message.

>>>Thank you for accepting your spot on the wait list for our Class of 2019. As outlined in your notification letter, I would encourage you to submit an updated academic transcript by February 1st and the easiest way to get this (or any new material) in your record is to send it directly to your Admissions Officer via e-mail. Please note, our wait list is not ranked, so all applicants positively replying will be considered equally for appointment should spots become available in the class between now and June 1st. We commonly outreach to applicants appointed off the wait list with a phone call followed up with an e-mail directing them to an online decision letter similar to your wait list notification letter. If you decide in the future that you are no longer interested in attending the Coast Guard Academy, we would appreciate knowing this so we may withdraw you from the wait list and learn where you've decided to attend college instead.<<<

Official admissions waitlist update email arrived today. Not making it off the CGAS waitlist. Son has already long accepted (happily!) his USAFA appointment, but my heart will always tugged by thoughts of him at CGA and in the Coast Guard like his big brother. Semper Paratus will now be replaced by Aim High in these parts. Good luck to all who made it off the list!

It seems like every year there are one or two 11th hour appointments...hang in there.

My son was notified on June 6th 2008 that the waitlist had closed and that there was no appointment for him that cycle.
