Addressing letters during Basic

USAFA, CO 80841
 
Does anyone know if the Preppies get a PO Box prior to in processing? We looked at the portal and there is nothing there.

I don't think they get it prior to inprocessing. Granted it's been a year for me but I remember my DS writing us from BMT and that's how we got his address.

Thank you. I wanted her to have something when she gets there. I guess I can do it the old fashioned way and give her a letter when she leaves.

She'll write you within the first few days there, if I remember right, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to write her during BMT. And send her favorite snacks once they start classes!
 
Hmmm... We definitely had addresses pre-Iday for both of ours. I swear the cadets were notified of what their address would be via standard paperwork/packet.

It was important for our family that they had mail already waiting for them at their first mail call.

Were they directs or Preppies? Anna's DD is going Prep and if I remember right (old man memory kicking in!) Preppies didn't get their PO boxes until they got there. I texted my DS to see if he remembers but he hasn't gotten back to me.
 
Yup DS just confirmed my memory. For Preppies you get your PO box when you get there.
