Dates?

Hey everyone,


I was wondering if someone could just give me a hint as to when the dates for any of the service academies for the Class of 2014 would be such as: dates nominations should be applied for, date the candidate questionnaire, etc. Any help is appreciated.

I suggest you check the web pages for your own US Senators and US Representatives for information on their applications. They have their own dates, applications and requirements.

As far as candidate questionairres - the best time is right after completing your junior year (unless you applied for summer seminar). After your junior year - go to your guidance office and get a copy of your transcripts - this will have a record of your gpa, course record and class rank and is very helpful in completing the questionairre accurately.
 
Sorry, how irresponsible of me. I am a freshman in college transferring to VMi next year. So I was wondering, should I start this summer on the CQ and any other paperwork that is necessary to begin the grueling process. Also glad to have my best friend home from USMA to give me pointers, but I'd also like some help from some more experienced people that have all of the answers. Thanks

Send my regards to South Florida. Left Miami 30 years ago for USNA and my first duty station was: Key West. LOL, so much for seeing the world (which I ultimately did get to do).
Congrats on the transfer to VMI. Are you in the ROTC program there? You are definately not too early to be contacting your senators and congressman if you are still interested in an appointment to West Point. They should have links on their web sites for academy candidates. Also, get registered on the USMA admissions web site.

I am confused. You are a currently a freshman in college and transferring to VMI for Sept of 2009 and you want to apply to West Point for the class of 2014?

You do know that would be like two plebe years in a row, right?
 
Well I have already gotten my application for my MOCs, but is it extremely important that I return it ASAP because the deadline is November 1. I know for the academy it is very important, just wasnt sure about the noms
 
It's different for every nomination source, but the majority of them have deadlines October through Novemeber.
 
I am wondering if Beat Navy believes the noms are all given out 1 Nov on a rolling basis, and does not realize 1 Nov is the deadline for request for the nom, with none being given out prior to that date.

Otherwise, it does not make any sense that they believe it needs to be submitted ASAP!
