Finally...a phone call

Finally Are you kidding? It was only Feb. 12th! Congrats, you are one of the lucky ones. Still waiting on this end and while I hope it doesn't come down to March 31 or even worse April 15th... I'll take any date with a positive response. As far as lodging... well, I'm already hooked up. A good friend and classmate has a huge house on Captain's row, about 100 yards from T-Court. Come on Appointment!

We did too! Weird to only buy a one way airline ticket for DS. Never done that before!

Yeah, I bet that was strange.... We are within driving distance. I used airbnb and found a great house close to USNA for same price as two hotel rooms. I need a kitchen to feed my crew.... Eating out for three days would be a bit much for us!

The national pool is almost the last thing to be decided....probably not until April.

So to decide who goes under each moc they separate all applications under each moc out is it if they see a good application they will award them an appointment with out considering the others

For the most part, they need to determine vacancy winners before the national pool can be decided.

We are coming from the whole opposite coast, it is just the three of us but still two hotel rooms anyway. What time is dinner June 29th? I will bring the wine!

We've been staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, off Harry Truman Parkway, since DS attended a USNA summer camp before his junior year in high school. There are promotional rates if you join Hilton Honors or book your stay way in advance. The hotel is a short drive from DTA, close to the mall and lots of chain restaurants and stores. May I suggest that you visit the mall for a movie and stock up on school supplies at the Target during PPW? Both will be packed with plebes. You'll meet other plebe parents and your chest will swell with pride seeing all the plebes looking sharp in their summer whites!

No one knows Michael. There is no set amount per a day. It was a 3 day weekend for USNA and they are on delayed schedule today due to weather. So things could slow down this week due to weather, but they are professionals and know this is crunch time. If they have to work late or weekends or whatever it is to get the class set, they will.

@NavyHoops

Thank you for all of your posts. It does really help us to read your input as we wait out this process. DS surprised us last April with the candidate number for USNA. We never knew he wanted to serve in the Navy until he approached us. He researched and started the application all on his own. My wife and I were reluctant at first as neither of us have served. But after many conversations with parents, midshipmen and alumni and after visiting the academy, we are thrilled our DS made this choice.

DS is all set with MOC nomination and other requirements. Now we just wait for the appointment. DS already got accepted to three excellent universities but his dream is the USNA. The wait continues...

thanks again. Go NAVY!

Congratulations! We are still waiting to hear, hope ours can be mids together!
By the way, is there any military lodging nearby, like a Navy Lodge etc?

Yes, there is a navy lodge across the river. That being said, make your reservations asap.
