Mass Appointments

It is about parents joining the USAFA Parent clubs.

And as I read it again, it refers to me either as "appointee" or "cadet".
 
Looks like a good excuse to call your admissions counselor and ask what's going on.
 
i just got that letter today too, and received my appointment last week. have you been offered an appointment? have you checked your online status?
 
Actually it was an excellent excuse to call my admissions counselor, and it has been confirmed. I am an appointee to the class of 2013. Counselor was surprised that I received the Parent Club letter first, but said that my Appointee Packet should have been mailed Friday, which oddly is the same exact day that the Parent Club letter was postmarked.

Hopefully it should come in the mail tomorrow so I can take a look at it.
 
Awesome!!! I thought that might be the case, since both that letter and my offer of appointment just came in the mail today. It's odd...but I'm sure it'll be in soon. Congratulations!!
 
Oh btw I keep checking on my online status (every second I'm not doing something else), and it still says "Candidate" and "Complete"

I'm assuming that it will take a while for this to change, if it even does once someone is appointed.

Has anyone that did not receive an Appointment to The AFA receive

a letter offering an Appointment to the Prep School ?

According to my last conversation with my Counselor, I am to receive an Appointment to the Prep School, but haven't received the official letter.

Hate to keep asking my counselor, so I was just curious if anyone has received a letter offering the Prep School Appointment.
 
got the package like 20 minutes ago, spent the last 19 minutes admiring it, and also that letter to my parents came too. I guess I now know what's inside. I doubt my parents would want to join :rolleyes:...congrats to everyone that has received! see ya'll the 25th! lol
 
congrats Air_Power! We found that same letter in the mail today and thankfully the "package" was right next to it! I'm sooooo proud of my boy!
 
I guess we have to adopt

We as parents got our letter today inviting us to be parents of cadet, but alas, the kid hasn't gotten his appointment letter yet. (MOC told him a couple weeks ago, but this is funny)

I believe the waiting is almost over for most at least - good luck to all.

ya thats what i was hoping...

so when i came home today the mail wasn't there and when i asked my brother if i got anything he said no..:frown:

are people getting both letter and packages?

how big is the package?

big enough to be on a doorstep and not in a mailbox?

I'm pretty sure it's a package, about 8 by 12 inches, standard paper size but thicker with a substantial amount of info. I guess it depends how big your mailbox is :p!

Does anyone know if rejection, waiting list, prep school, and falcon foundation letters have been sent out yet?
 
We have a huge mailbox and this is the first thing that ever kept the lid slightly ajar. I would guess its a standard business class envelope about 14" x 10" and its stiff with booklets and such. Oh yeah, and it is white, not blue.
 
Does it still say, "Appointment inclosed" ? (spelled with an "i")?

Yup, it says OFFICIAL BUSINESS and 3/4 of the way down it says OFFER OF APPOINTMENT ENCLOSED in a blue background. I screamed when I saw that.
 
LOL, nice to know they changed that! Last year it said, "inclosed".

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all that are receiving it, however it's spelled!:smile:
