Thudgate: Falcon Football

I plan on stopping by also. Am I reading things correctly that our C4C can do so with us?

This is all completely new to us. We have no military in either side of our families!

As a side note our son will be running down and doing pushups after every Falcon score! He volunteered for this which surprised me and made me pretty happy that he is not lingering at the rear and hoping not to be noticed.

By all means. Most cadets are required to spend SOME time at their squadron tailgate. But they are free to roam about. At least until they must form up to march onto the field prior to kickoff. But by all means bring them. We have a lot of cadets who come by. Grab some brats, brisket, a soda or beer. (No beer for the cadets. Lol). And enjoy the fellowship. Let them see hat the real military family is all about. There will be some C1C cadets there to mentor. I'll make sure of it. See you there.

And remember, I'd like to meet each and every one of you. So would Flieger (Steve). He will be there. Make sure you look for us. I'm Mike (from wyoming). Most there won't be as familiar with the forum. And I'll help you find Steve. And there will also be other forum members there who have been there before.

Mike
I might be able to run over early to help you setup if needed since I will be right across I-25. Don't know about later, since I will have to go back to bring over my FIL who attends in a wheelchair on the West side. Is 8am a good time?

Probably. I will check with my peeps tonight and try to post an update by tomorrow.

I know you mentioned it somewhere in this thread, but where exactly is the Thudgate tailgate?

Thank you.

We will definitely be stopping by, without our C4C, unfortunately since she is in D&B.

Looking forward to meeting as many from the forum as possible.

South side is the side that the scoreboard/Jumbotron screen is located. Also it's the side away from the mountains (west)!!
Just look for some incredible folks!
Some us have a face for the Internet!!
(Apologies to the old saw about having a face for radio!)

Mike....

Look for me to pester you on the 10th...and potentially at the Navy game...and Hawaii....and maybe CSU.

Yes, really.

Steve

FYI. We'll be setting up / starting at 8:00 am. So come join us. Looking forward to it.

Update: The map above is close, but not the most accurate. We're actually a little further north than the cartoon picture shows. If you were lined up with the EAST EDGE of the SOUTH SCOREBOAD, that's a more precise description of our location. See you soon. Mike.

It's always a joy to stop by Thudgate. Good food, drink, and company. See you all at the game!

Dang bro. I remember when you were applying to the academy. Now you're graduating in a few months. Time flies brother. Lot of good thud gates together. See you Saturday.

Reminders for those attending parent's weekend and thudgate. If you're from out of town and can't bring any food or drink, that's understandable. We have a donation jar if you want to partake of any food or drink. (amount is self determined). We have a stamp for your hand. In the past, we've had many non-guests just walk through and raid the beer and food. (That's what happens when you get so big).

But we haven't let that detract from what thudgate is all about and why we're here.
1) Support our cadets at the academy
2) Recognize, remember, and appreciate our active duty and retired who have sacrificed so much for our country.
3) Honor those no longer with us either in action or from non-military related causes.
4) Bring the air force "FAMILY" together.

Click below for thudgate facebook. See pictures and watch video of what thudgate is all about. Also info on attending. See you soon. Mike.

We are coming down from South Dakota for the Navy game. Maybe we will have a chance to drop by and meet some of you.

Great Thudgate!
Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting a lot of new ones!
Go AF!!

Very sorry and bummed we did not make it to Thudgate.

I was not feeling well all morning. This culminated into me running off to the fence behind the squadron tailgates and projectile vomiting.

I made it to halftime and went out and laid in our car. Wife came out and ran me to hotel and she went back for the remainder of the game.

I still dont feel too hot. Not sure it it is altitude related or something I ate. Leaning towards altitude.

So sorry you were ill. I was thrilled to meet a few of the great folks on this forum, and hope to meet more in the future.
Thanks Mike for welcoming our large group into the Thudgate family.

It was great seeing so many of you out there. And I really appreciated the help you gave in setting things up. I know many of you are from out of state, but if you can find a way to get back for a game, you're always welcomed.

I know parents weekend is hard. Trying to see your cadets squadron, their tailgates, the campus, spending time with them, etc. But I'm thrilled that many of you were able to stop by. And some of you locals, I hope you become regulars.

Thanks again to our forum administrator for the financial donation. We got some great food with it. And most of the coffee cups were taken, as well as cards. We will put the remainder out next week for the game, so if you're a local and coming to the game, pick one up.
