AROTC-Boarded

I don't know what order they use... my son is still "board ready." Last name is a V... we are used to being near the end of lines! Ha! ;-)

My last name starts with L. I am still "Board Ready". The board is four days long so I assume it will flip in the next few days.

K last name and still Board Ready and he has been that status since end of August.

I've got to say knowing how Army selection systems are, the default is most likely alphabetical. We're "O" so maybe toward the end of tomorrow....

If I had my documents uploaded by the document submission deadline, but updated my college list last week, will I still be looked at this board? Or will I be automatically recycled to the next?

We changed out college choices either last Thr/Fri and were boarded as of yesterday.

Had that same issue. I emailed Cadet Command through the portal and they said it would not recycle me to the next board. So you are fine

DS has a B last name. Was board ready late last night and boarded when I checked at 9 am.

DS was notified on 11/18/15 that he had been awarded a scholarship (no distinction on 3 or 4 year), although the notifier (local ROTC ROO) did not have any details at that time regarding the schools, etc. We called his #1 school that day and they filled in the blanks for us on it being a 4 year and that it was to his choice of his top 3 schools. The actual notification letter didn't show up until mid-December...I remember he had less than 30 days to make his decision, sign, and submit. The portal didn't change until about the time we saw the letter in the mail.

DD is beginning of B's and was boarded around noon yesterday so my guess would be they are going alphabetically.

Last name C. Board Ready yesterday. Boarded today sometime before the afternoon. Anyone know not only the timeline of whether or not we won, but what school it is too and by when we must accept it?

Did he have to pick a school in that 30 days?

Yes, it will be more or less 30 days depending on how long it takes to notify. My daughter received hers 3rd board I think her portal changed on April 4th or 5 th to winner, the letter showed up a week later and she had to decide by May 4th. To accept the scholarship you have to accept it to one of the schools given as a option on the offer. Obviously with my DD being 3rd board she already knew what schools she got into, but first board can be trickier, you can request a transfer of the scholarship, however, the first step is to accept it to one of the options and then go through the transfer process in the Spring. I hope that helps.

The schools are listed on the portal when it changes to winner. The timeline is different every board it seems, could be a few weeks, or a month or longer. This board will light up when the flip is switched and first board winners are notified. If you are not selected first board your name stays on the list for the next board so there is no status update. It takes about a week for the letter to get to you and the date is printed on the offer letter. Typically it is 30 days after the portal changed. Good luck!

30 days to accept or deny? And thanks for the reply!

Yes, so to get the scholarship you have to accept it to a specific school, or you can deny all together, I am guessing if you do nothing it is the same as denying. But don't worry, the board was full of situations last year where a applicant accepted to a school then didn't get into a school and had a transfer, or accepted then got an appointment and took that over the ROTC scholarship.

Basically, receiving the scholarship is the first step of a very long process!

So the 30 days start the day the letter is mailed? I'm a bit worried because mail in my city has been known to take weeks to arrive.
The schools are listed on the portal when it changes to winner.
So the online portal will most likely inform winners which schools they won scholarships to days/weeks before the letter will? And can the whole process be completed online?

Thank you so much.

I don't remember that she could do it online, but the school information is online. Once she got the letter she signed it and uploaded it or emailed it, I know I had to scan it for her. Then on her portal there was a copy of the letter of intent and her status change from offer to 3 schools to accepts at one.

Remember cadet command is accessible. If you portal updates and you do not receive the letter close to the date (everyone has the same date due so it will be posted on this board), you can contact them and they will help you.
