Is there a Class of 2021 appointment thread yet?

Thanks! My DD--flyingbadger21--is really hoping to start seeing some future classmates in here.

So excited for your DD!! Waiting patiently...my DD received a LOA and that day was like Christmas morning for sure!! Again, Congrats!!

That's awesome! Where's she from? Good luck to her during nomination season! Those interviews were actually kind of fun.

We are from Missouri. Representative interview Nov. 12 and our Senators do not interview. So anxious!!

My DS opened the portal this morning and woke the entire house up. Congrats to all that made it! Aim High!

Congrats to all-time to bubble wrap!

Congrats to both Mamalama and Padre101. On behalf of the many hopeful members and stalkers of this forum, I thought I would ask a couple of recurring questions for early Appointments.

1. When was your DD/DS's application complete?
2. Is your DD/DS a recruited athlete?
3. Did your DD/DS have a Presidential nomination (I am assuming so, but just want to clarify).
4. Is your DD/DS part of ChrisCorps "no brainer" subset?
5. Did your DD/DS receive an email notifying them to check their Portal or did they just check and see the Appointment?

Enjoy the ride.......It will all go by very fast.

1. DS's portions of the application were complete at the end August. One last optional recommendation was submitted at the beginning of October. Had a November 1 deadline.
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. Don't know how I would answer that. We had our doubts.
5. DS received an email at 5 am this morning to check our portal. My wife received a similar message.

I'm Mamalama's DD, so I think I can help answer those questions.

1) My application was complete by the first week of September.

2) I'm not a recruited athlete.

3) I do have a Presidential nomination.

4) This one's harder for me to answer. I'm not exactly sure what would put a candidate in this subset. I've met plenty of great kids who weren't given an appointment yet.

5) I did receive an email this morning.

Hopefully this helps. Good luck to the other candidates!

While I would say my DD (flyingbadger21) did a great job answering above, I would be comfortable saying that she largely--though not perfectly--met the "no brainier" subset. Very competitive ACT scores, 4.2 GPA, XC Captain, lots and lots of leadership and service, already with several offers from other universities as well as a full 4-year ROTC scholarship awarded. I would say "not perfectly" though, because I really have the impression that it is the grit and determination in her record that lifted her. She has had to work hard for all of these bullet points. She's not #1 or 2 in her class.. Took ACT three times to get it there...worked and lobbied for Captain--she's not the fastest but was very committed to her team. This "grit"quality is really what--to me-- made her application stellar and I hope that other such applicants who are worried they aren't "no-brainers" take heart: It's not just your scores--it's also your commitment!

Well is looks like someone with an Appointment from the class of 2021 or a moderator should start the coveted "Class of 2021 Appointment Thread"......Again, congratulations.

Congrats Zandercott! I was recently at USAFA for FVE. We were able to visit the Prep School and IT IS AWESOME. Many of the best cadets were Preppies. You'll do great!
