Hello, I am a current candidate for the Naval Academy class of 2021. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where they think I stand and if not a chance at the Academy yet what about NAPS? My stats are as follows:
JROTC- Battalion Commander, Raider Captain, and around 200 hours of service (4 year cadet)
Cross Country- Captain (4 years member)
Track and Field- Captain (4 Year member)
National Honor Society
Future Business Leaders of America- Secretary (made it to states last year)
Interact Club
3.9 unweighted GPA and 1180 SAT (Third attempt in December) 23 ACT
Work at McDonald's for over a year now
I also participated in the Summer Seminar
I don't remember my exact CFA but I believe it was 58 push ups, 78 sit-ups, 9.2 shuttle run, 9 pull ups, 38ft ball throw (my fault for not practicing), and a 6:08 mile run.

I have recently completed an interview with my Senator and am awaiting a notice for an interview with my Congressman. I am a PA resident so I am aware i am in a competitive State. I passed my medical exam as well. As of August 12 my application was complete. Thank you for any advice and for reading my thread!

Resume looks good. One major issue... test scores. I think your test scores may put you more likely for NAPS than a direct appointment. Keep working hard and ensure you are taking some prep classes for your SAT/ACT either online or in person. Good luck.

You appear to have almost the exact resume as myself as well as being a resident of the same state. Have you heard anything on the Senator nominations yet? Also which district are you from if I you wouldn't mind me asking?

Senator Toomey did not give me an interview. The interview for Senator Casey went well I think, but a lot of talented men and women. They told me we would receive notices in January. I am in district 9 though what about yourself?

I would not be optimistic with those numbers. SAT and ACT are low. GPA and NHS are good, but it will depend upon the rigor of your curriculum and the ranking of your high school. Of course you need a nomination too.

I have seen lots of kids with better numbers turned away. Make sure to have a solid backup plan.

Good luck.

I am from district 4, but live abroad so my interviews with the Senators were over the phone.

i have an unweighted gpa of 3.4 (4.0 weighted, 9-11th grade courses) with nine AP courses, but i have an ACT of 34 composite. we have inverse academic stats, but I wish you luck on your process. Make sure you do your NROTC stuff as well.

Did you apply for your unit JROTC nomination ? While waiting for the congressman and senator interview for nomination, he got an offer for class 2021 with JROTC nomination.
Try to re take SAT/ACT whichever you are doing well with it. My son took ACT 3 times with superscore of 36 and 34 in Math and English respectively. I believe your GPA is better than him a lot (He got 4.79 weighted GPA ) .

Re take the SAT/ACT exam ASAP now if I were you.
