How long until notification of appointment?

So I have an LOA, I've been cleared by DoDMERB, and I saw that I'd received a nomination from my congressman in my portal (haven't gotten the letter yet from him, though). I've had all this since Monday and I have no required actions left in the portal, but I haven't seen a change in my status. As of right now, it still says Conditional Offer of Appointment. Has anyone else been in a similar situation, and if so, did you find out about your appointment first via email, BFE, or status change? I know I'm probably just being impatient and antsy, but I guess I just want to know how it's gone for other people, too.

Could be days or weeks. Just because your MOC notified you doesn't mean the slate has been officially submitted to USNA. Give it some time. Admissions is busy and will get to it. Focus on Plan B and getting in shape.

Congratulations runxc8 !

USNA Admissions is processing ~17,000 + Applications right now.

You will get the news before Christmas.

To help you in the meantime, just imagine yourself as one of the kids who won't get an LOA but will get an Appointment in late February or even late March.

Or imagine you are one of the many, many other kids who will not get an Appointment. That is not as much fun as knowing you just beat the ~ 1 in 17 Odds of actually getting an Appointment !

Be very happy that you are in 'the LOA pile', even though it may take another week or so.

Here is how one kid found out with no LOA

Thanks for the info and reply! And thank you NavyHoops, too!

When was your application complete? DD is a recruited athlete and application has been in since mid October.

I received an LOA in early October and my application status was updated. However, I recently noticed my status change to CPR-is this common?

I completed my app in early September. I had an LOA in late September, was medically cleared in the middle of October and received a nom about two weeks ago.

I don't know if it is or not but mine never did that. The status always remained conditional offer of appointment after I received the LOA.

Also to update my status on this thread, I did receive and accept an appointment a couple days ago!

Runxc8 - First, Congratulations! But how did you receive your appointment? My son's situation is similar to yours: Dodmerb cleared, on a Monday he received a phone call from MOC saying he would get a nomination(no email, letter), the following Thursday he got an email from USNA with an LOA, on his portal App. Status is Conditional Offer of Appt LOA - Required action - obtain an nomination. Then one week later, his portal states he has nomination - No action required, but still his status is Conditional offer of Appt. Will he get a letter or email soon? It seems that he has fulfilled all the requirements but it feels like we can't celebrate until his Application Status changes.

In the same position!

Sorry for the late response! He might have received his appointment by now. But for me, I found out via the portal about a week and a half after I had everything in order and I received the BFE in the mail yesterday! My portal looked the exact same way, so there's nothing to worry about. I think it's just a matter of admissions getting around to your app to update it when it's at that point. And congrats to your son!!

I am in the exact same position as well. I received my LOA October 24, and I got my nomination on December 1st. My BGO said that during the holiday season the office sorta shuts down and so some applications are reviewed. ALlo there are so many applications that are being sent in right now that they are just swamped.

Yes, we just needed to be patient. On Monday, the MOC's office called congratulating my son and said it would be official via email on Wed(today). He did get the email this morning!
