Hey there, just checked my USNA CIS and saw that under the "Nominations" page, it had been updated from saying "None Received" to "Congress/Representative NC 09 30-NOV-2016", does this mean I have received a nomination? I have not gotten a letter in the mail yet but I was curious as to whether or not this means I have received a nomination. Additionally, is there any expected wait period if my status is "Complete Pending Review" and I have received a nomination?

Yes, you were one out of the 10 for Congressman Pittenger that received a nomination. Somewhere around 56 interviewers for 1 spot at the naval academy, and 10 nominees were chosen. The military operations and veteran affairs coordinator (or whatever title he has) of Pittenger's office (the one who greeted you when you walked in) will be sending out the letters in a few days, expect them in the mail soon.

The expected wait period is anytime until you receive an offer of appointment or rejection letter. It could be months from now.

I'm curious about the 1 spot thing. The coordinator had told me while I was waiting that it was not uncommon for them to have 3-4 people get appointed.

Also where did you get the 56 number? Just curious

I assume the "1 spot" thing is from the number of appointments that can be charged to a MOC. eg. 4 currently in and 1 (this years) at bat.
More than 1 person can be appointed from a congressional district but only 1 can be charged to the MOC. The others could be Senatorial, Presidential, VP, Sup, ROTC etc.

That makes sense, if more than one slot opens up (i.e. Multiple people graduate) more than one can receive the congressional appointment right?

Does anyone know out of 10 candidates that received the nomination from Congressman Pittinger, on average, based on prior years, how many are expected to receive an appointment, 1 or 2? or 4-5 (assuming the remainder after the 1 charged to him would be charged to the National pool)?, 8-9?

Has anyone heard anything from Senator Tillis' office regarding nominations? Also will they double nominate someone (that already has a nomination)? The lady at the front mentioned something about it but it wasn't clear

I haven't heard anything yet, I guess it's probably tomorrow

But realistically I didn't interview that well and I'm probably not getting it, but we'll see!

UPDATE FOR THOSE IN NC. Just checked my portal, I have received a nomination from Senator Tillis as well! Just wanted to let y'all know so you can check.
