USCGA 2021 Appointments

DS got email last week indicating his record has been scheduled for review and will be forwarded to the CCEB. Have read on this forum that RA applications are reviewed in the order received. DS submitted shortly after EA deadline, so maybe it's true?

I hope so :)

My DS had his RA application submitted on 28 SEP 16. He too got that email on 8 JAN 17. Hoping to hear something too, also awaiting news from the USAFA and USNA. Just saw that email and it states 'Decisions will normally begin to be published on a rolling basis in mid-February and all Regular Admission applicants will be notified of their admission decision no later than April 1st."

So, the wait continues :)

Us EA applicants waited until 4 days before the deadline to be notified. Despite what emails or bears den said. Very few hear any earlier. Plan on late march, early April.

True, @Red410....just because it went to review doesn't necessarily mean DS will hear anything before April 1. We're buckled in for the wait.

Can anyone give me an idea of what SAT score is average for anyone accepted so far ?

Thanks. Looks like I waisted my time with my application but my Plan B is solid so we're all good.

Hello - my son received conditional appointment on dec 19 as well. Good luck to all still waiting appointments!

DD applied for EA and received conditional appointment on November 5. Pending medical waiver review by USCGA ( for mild nut allergy according ) to DodMERB. AO said waiver review takes 10 - 12 weeks. Today is the 10th week so I guess wait until the end of the 12th week (1/26/17).

They take a holistic look at the entire applicant ... if you're down in one area you may be up in others ... also remember those are averages ... stay positive

Has anyone heard from RA? DD submitted in Nov to be at the top of the RA stack but has not heard anything yet except for the email stating ready for review.

Nope. My DS had is application in on 28 SEP 16. That review email stated to expect mid-Feb. So we wait....

I suspect news to start by the end of Jan. To all who applied for RA, I hope that you will handle the news well. Appointment, Scholars, Wait List and Rejection. All offer opportunities. Just have too have the clarity to see it. Do not let your emotions drive you the wrong direction. Please have plan B and C ready. To those who get an Appointment get in the best shape for Squab Summer.

Hi USCG Master, I asked this on another thread. My DS is on EA WaitList and just got his USMA acceptance packet on Thursday. Is it advisable to let USCG know of his West Point acceptance in order to bolster his CG application? His 1st choice is USCGA, he is also waiting on USNA for which he has 2 nominations and USAFA. Thanks for you insight.

It is not necessary to let Admissions know of the other Service Academy Appointment. They have their own admissions criteria and no emphasis is placed on whether the applicant received an appointment to another school. Congrats on the other appointment though.

Has anyone heard from RA yet? I was told by a coach that my app is under review. I had everything submitted the day after EA so I'm probably in the first batch of RA right?
