NROTC Board Review Schedule

My daughter and I were hoping they had a similar date schedule for FY17 (end Jan. board dates) when compared to FY16. Oh well, the waiting begins. Thank you

The schedule is slightly different every year. There was going to be one in late January, but it was removed from the schedule. The next board occurs on the February dates I posted.

I am at work so cannot check anything...has anyone seen anything on his or her portal yet?

Are the NROTC school battalions that are listed on my DD application notified that her application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection? If not when are they notified:
- After scholarship approval?
- After scholarship approval and when she passes her physical?

It was posted earlier somewhere that only a scholarship recipient's #1 choice school is notified.
So, #1 school is notified after scholarship award, but before being qualified medically.

The unit is notified when the scholarship is awarded and the student is placed at the school. In some cases, that notification occurs the same day the student is notified. In other cases, we get a day or two advance notice.

Has anybody heard from the 11-14 January board? My portal hasn't been updated yet, and I finished my application in November. What could this mean?

My daughter received an email from Penasacola on Tuesday indicating she had been awarded a scholarship.

I wonder if this is a case of a school being notified a couple days early (as suggested by NavyNOLA)... and the portals should update today or tomorrow for the recipients... ?

Your portal will not be updated unless/until you are awarded a scholarship. So, this could mean your application was reviewed, but you were not awarded a scholarship at that board. If that is the case, your application would be reviewed again at the next board and each subsequent board until you are awarded a scholarship or are denied.

At least in my DS's case, I believe his portal updated the same day he received the email from NSTC.

my DS received notification by email of his selection for the 4yr NROTC Scholarship on 1/23/17. The update was in his portal when he logged on. His package was completed and submitted the middle of October, if that helps anyone. He is in NY - Long Island region.

@Anchor7 Congratulations to your DS ! My DS is also awaiting news from the NROTC and is also from NY-LI region. Can you provide any stats from your DS application ? Curiosity is getting the best of us and like everyone else, we are wondering what his chances of selection might be.
