I'm a current junior who is tentatively applying to two service academies- my family is a Navy fam so I will be applying to USNA, and USCGA because their mission appeals to me. Lately I've been really worried about how my academics will stack up. In early December I emailed the track coach for CGA (I am not D1 material but CGA is D3 which is tangible for me) and he seemed enthusiastic about my academic/athletic abilities. However, the Naval Academy has always interested me and I know their standards are a bit higher. I was wondering if any accepted people or other prospective attendees could share their junior/senior schedules and academic stats to give me a basis of where I'm at? Also, if anyone could give feedback on mine that would be great.
*note - IB stands for International Baccalaureate and it is an internationally recognized rigorous diploma that select students receive. I am a candidate. We only have a few AP classes at my HS, and IB is viewed as equal to or better than AP.*

Sounds very strong to me if you get your SAT around a 1300-1400. Your math definitely needs to be better than what you got on psats but I know you studied a lot for it so I expect it to be better. Definitely apply for Boys State if the deadline hasn't passed and keep boosting your leadership score and community service. PM me so we can talk more about it as I am also applying to USNA '22

Have you applied for NASS and the USCGA equivalent yet? If you mentioned that in your first post and I didn't see it, I am sorry, but I highly recommend going to NASS since you're a junior. I went last summer and fell in love with USNA.

Niiiceeee. You'll love it. Just be prepared for the CFA they give there:rolleyes:I kinda sorta did pathetic on mine:DThank goodness for retakes.
Oh no... I just looked at the requirements. I can do 2 pull ups.. max. Everything else is in good shape for me

You should get in touch with the USNA coach and, if time allows, then go meet him. You don't necessarily need to be a superstar for the coach to have interest in you. Coaches are often looking for something other than how fast you currently are... they are also looking at how coachable you are, your work ethic, and what you could bring to the team dynamics. If you can convince the coach that you could positively impact the team, and he goes to bat for you, it could definitely make your path a bit easier.

Thanks! I will definitely reach out to the coach, but I still don't think I'm quite at the D1 level. I have a strong work ethic when it comes to athletics but you also do need the numbers. I'll be working very, very hard this season to boost them, though!

Probably also should not use your real name or a picture of yourself in your profile.
