Color Deficiency Waiver

Not sure about my son's portal but he received a shoulder surgery waiver yesterday in the mail and is medically qualified per his BGO so it appears he has the color vision too. The shoulder waiver was dated 1/20 and he received it yesterday. He is pretty set on USMA so it may be a mute point. If he receives an offer of appointment, that may change. He's been waiting 6 months almost for the shoulder so it's been out of his mind for most of that time as unattainable coupled with a color vision DQ to boot. Time will tell.

Portal changed to waiver granted last weekend. Anyone got a letter in the mail ?

got my letter today. Marine Corps ground was exactly what I wanted to do color defiency or not so I'm glad to still be in the running for an appointment

Maxd, make sure to study which MOSs you can have with color deficiency. Certain items like ATC and communications you can't select. Something about that whole green/red on a screen or wires seems to be a big issue! ;) If you are really bad with red/green you get a 'seeing eye Lt' for land Navy so you won't miss the red box.

My top choices for MOSs are Infantry, Artillery or Ground Intel. Do you know where I could find the medical requirements for those MOSs

My waiver for color deficiency was not granted. I was a competitive candidate and also received a principal nom to USNA and USMA. Consider yourself lucky
