Unfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
So sorry. He is driven enough to get this far, he'll do well wherever he goes!Unfortunately my son didn't pass his secondary color vision test (Farnsworth Lantern) so he will not be attending the Coast Guard Academy. Good luck to everyone else in the running.
Don't forget that the subset you are looking at that frequent this forum represent only a certain percentage of all applicants and/or parents of the same.Have there been no appointments since February 1? Wow!
Good luck to her. These are tough things for parents but in the end if a candidate is not 100% invested it is the right decision. She will do well I am sure of it.My DD will be declining her offer of appointment today. I lost sleep over it hoping she's made the right decision. So a spot will open up for someone on the wait list. Good luck to everyone!
Assuming she chose a SA, may I ask which one?? And yes, a blessing to be in that "dilemma". Tough decisions - the first of many, I'm sure!Thank you. It doesn't feel natural to turn something down that you've worked so hard for. But DD worked extremely hard as everyone else on the forum and was lucky enough to receive offers to everything she applied to. Not in a million years did I think she would be in this position. So you just never know!
Sure She chose USMA. We made sure she thoroughly went through her choices before making any decisions. She always wanted Army but more importantly she wanted be a part of the military institution so she would have been happy with the Coast Guard branch if that was her only option. Came home from an over night stay at USCGA and was very impressed so it was not an easy decision.Assuming she chose a SA, may I ask which one?? And yes, a blessing to be in that "dilemma". Some candidates this week have now moved onto the RA review stage (my DS being one of them) so I imagine we will start hearing of new appointments soon.Have there been no appointments since February 1? Wow!

DS got an email stating his application was going to review but he still may not get a decision untill April 1st. Review date and decision date are unfortunately not tied together.Did you find out via email OT bears den?
The list on this forum is by no means exhaustive. It only includes those who read and respond here.Issues w/the website have prevented us from checking the DODMERB site, however after speaking w/staff we have confirmed that they received my DS remedial packet on Feb. 7th. They have also confirmed it is in review at this time. Just waiting....& praying.
Also I noticed a list here in the postings, is it exhaustive or just from the folks who have replied in this forum?
I'm guessing those that went to the Board on 4 JAN 17 and haven't heard anything are probably not receiving appointments? My DS hasn't heard a peep.
