Just, got off the phone with my Daughter’s admission officer. She stated that they are behind due to weather closing. They, still plan to be finished by 1 April.
The last checkbox was not checked. DD found the link under her application section. Without the email she wouldn't have known.Congratulations !!! Was the box checked for CCERB? Was the notification that a decision is available near that checked box? Still waiting here. Check DS's Bear Den a few minutes ago, nothing.Spoke too soon. E-mail came notifying a decision was available.
Full appointment!

You never know. My DD scores a 1200 on the SAT and received a full appointment.Yup. No email just checked the portal. I feel sad and pissed atmThe wait is driving me absolutely insane-- this has been the slowest month ever.
Straight up denied. How darn selective is this place?
Did you (and @Red410 ) just find out today?
I anticipate I'll be joining you soon. I've poured everything I have into this, but I don't think my standardized tests are going to make the cut. I have great grades and horrible scores-- oh, well. All I know is that at the end of the day we've done our best.
I can only hope. I have some letters (a Captain, the Superintendent of my school district, and additional one from AIM Cadre), ECs (president of Debate team, radio astronomy, 4H, etc.), I go to a Governors School for STEM, and a coach at CGA said he'd do what he could in admissions, but I've been told that mediocre SAT scores still outweigh the positives.. I'm praying. You never know. My DD scores a 1200 on the SAT and received a full appointment.
Still waiting here too, as are many. Hoping that his credentials are enough to warrant an appointment. He did fairly well in most areas (1360 SAT, 3.87, 245 CFA). He is also a cadet commander in CAP, a Spaatz Cadet, and won Cadet of the Year for his squadron, state, and region in 2016. Also lettered in XC and Track and served as the team captain. Hoping it's enough. Still praying and fingers are crossed.
Sounds like a solid approach. Regardless if the outcome is not what you're hoping for, keep your chin up. You're way ahead of many out there who haven't begun setting post high school plans. The fact that you've gotten this far states a ton to your character and commitment. And, good things happen when you do that. It may take an extra step, but you're heading in the right direction.Still waiting here too, as are many. Hoping that his credentials are enough to warrant an appointment. This is such a stressful process, but it sounds like he has done really well. I'm hoping that if I don't get an appointment this year, I'll go to VMI for a year, work on getting higher SAT scores, then reapply.

Yep, we only check it like 10 times a dayWe received the email that my DS file was going up for review on 1/11 & still have not received word either. Does everyone get up 1st thing these days & check.... email, Bear's Den, SA Forum like I do? April 1st is right around the corner, thankfully.
Thank you for the kind words. This has been an interesting journey for everyone.Sounds like a solid approach. Regardless if the outcome is not what you're hoping for, keep your chin up. I submitted in early January (I had a teacher who didn't seem to understand that time was of the essence.. I should've said it was due in November [emoji23]), and haven't received an email saying it is going to the board. I received the DoDMERB email (and qualification letter), though.. is that bad I haven't received it?Just for anyone out there who is as curious as I was when waiting to hear back from the academy - my last letter of rec. was submitted on 1/11, I got the email saying my application was headed to the CCEB on 2/7, and my electronic appointment decision became available on 3/15. Like E_Dad said, the first line of the letter doesn't say "Congratulations!" like with other colleges, it says "Thank you for applying to the United States Coast Guard Academy," so don't be discouraged if that's the opener to your letter!

Thank you! I love VMI, and have become friends with some of the people on the team I'd be joining. It's an honor to have received an appointment from a school with such amazing history-- but USCGA is still my first choice.Going to VMI is a solid plan. I commissioned in the CG from VMI and I am still on active duty. If you do go that route, do apply for the CGA again, but VMI is a very good school and will set you up for much success regardless if you commission into any service or not. Good luck to you.
Usually a DoDMERB request is a sign you are a competitive candidate. Still no guarantees, though.I submitted in early January (I had a teacher who didn't seem to understand that time was of the essence.. I read this and had to respond because it could be us in a nutshell. I've been following for months though because DS was waitlisted on EA. We will wait it out until 5/1. He also received 4yr NROTC scholarship to RPI. RPI gives free room and board to all NROTC recipients, so even though USCGA is first choice he will receive an excellent education either way and his goal has always been a great education and serving his country. What we have learned very quickly with the waiting back in Dec. was that there is nothing you can do to speed up the process, it will happen when it happens.I have been lurking the site for several weeks now, my son has applied and we are anxiously awaiting his decision too. He received the 4 Jan email also. He is also awaiting USNA decision. He has received the NROTC 4 year scholarship. We are hoping he has a very tough decision to make here in the next month or so. Good luck to everyone!
