NAPS Class of 2018 Thread!

When did y'all find out you were accepted into NAPS. Many of my friends and I still haven't heard anything from the Academy.

November 15th. However, this is typically early for a NAPS offer. Hope you hear back from USNA soon!

Its not uncommon to have not heard yet. Feb and March are typically busy months for appointments. Most Foundation and NAPS offers come in mid-late March and even into April.

Greetings,

I was recently offered an appointment to NAPS for the class of 2018 (which of course I accepted) and would like to see who else out there will be attending NAPS with me!

thanks,

NMCandidate

Hi NM - I've received my LOA to NAPS about a month ago pending medical. Today, my medical cleared, as best I can tell; it now says "qualified" on the dodmerb site. So, I'm hopeful that in the coming days I'll officially receive the green light. I've been accepted into a few other colleges which I'll turn down as soon as NAPS is official.

I officially accepted the offer to attend NAPS today!

You can not apply to NAPS, instead what happens is if you apply to USNA and the admission board deems you as a candidate with good potential to succeed but need some academic strengthening then you will be offered NAPS.
Really? That is weird I have never heard of that. Why do they have to make it such an elite club?

Because once you get into NAPS, and you do well there, it is almost a guaranteed entry to USNA which is an even MORE elite organization.
NAPS is intended for strong candidates for USNA who come up a little short because of their background, or other circumstances. It is like a "prep" school for candidates who just need a tad more grooming.

About NAPS: Would love to tell you how it is but the Commanding Officer is retiring this year so everything may be completely different for your class haha.
