NAPS Class of 2018 Thread!

I'm wondering if anyone who has officially accepted NAPS has received a package with instructions/timelines etc.? I officially accepted about a month ago and received my snazzy binder with my acceptance letter, but thus far I haven't received anything that tells me where/when to be. I suspect that's common, but also didn't want to sit idol if I'm supposed to be doing something more.

As a second question, are there any suggestions on when I tell the other colleges I've been accepted into, that I'm declining their offers.... I'm headed to NAPS!

Looking forward to meeting those of you heading to Newport in a few months!

I do not believe anyone has received the official 2017-2018 package yet. Be sure to join the Facebook page titled 'NAPS Class of 2018 Midshipman Candidates Only'.

By the title I'm assuming just for the candidates, but wanted to make sure...parents too?

My son didn't receive a nomination from either Senators or Reps mainly because his test scores could be better (1280 Sat and 29 Act). He was asked by the Retired General that was present at one of the nom meetings if he would go to Naps if offered. Of course my son yes. My question is we haven't received any word about anything. His page says still pending review. Is this promising? We have a plan b and he will be attending WVU and will start the process again for USNA.

Read on the NAPS Facebook that orders are likely in the first week of April

Your sons scores are similar to my sons. They also asked him if he would accept the prep school in his USAFA MOC interview. He didn't get a nomination but he did get a recommendation to the USAFA prep school. His choices were USAFA & USNA. We understand that this receomendation is very rare as his admission counselor did not know what it is and had to go to her contact at the admission board to ask what it was.

He remains with both the USAFA & USNA as a viable prep school candidate on their portals. He is an athlete w a full ride so plan B is good but he wants to go to the SA and has a vision for his life to serve his country. As I have stalked this forum site I CHOOSE to believe those that go before me and accept that no news is good news!

Does anyone know how many NAPSters received a nomination but did not receive an offer of appointment to the USNA?
