Where is Everyone Taking Their ROTC Scholarship?!?!?! (Any Branch)

DD got 4 year NROTC, but still deciding between RPI, WPI and possibly Norwich, in that order (just got TWE from USNA, so now she really has to focus on a decision).

@Motorguy congratulations, my DS also won a 4 year to Cornell. He accepted the scholarship the other day. Now we just wait to find out if he gets into the university. Best of luck to you and your DS.
@cali-mom Congrats to you as well. Cornell should be sending out acceptance March 30th at 5PM via portal and email.
@cali_mom: Well we got waitlisted at Cornell so we are moving on to his 2nd and 3rd choice schools Boston University or Hofstra University which he was accepted already. I hope your DS made it in to Cornell.

Notre Dame vs Yale NROTC.....Know quite a bit about Notre Dame and their NROTC. Do not know much about Yale's unit at all....other than DS is in at both schools. Found out about Yale yesterday and already has email from their CO.

I believe ND'S detachment is larger and includes Crosstown Affiliates of Valparaiso and maybe some others. I know I read in the past that Notre Dame's Detachment has one multiple national awards for nrotc excellence

Wow - congrats on the Yale acceptance. They had a 5% acceptance rate this year! That's a heck of an achievement. Be proud. Also, can't go wrong with a Top 5 university. https://www.timeshighereducation.co...gth/25/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats

My DS has accepted 4 year NROTC to University of Texas. He is extremely thankful to be selected and can't wait to get going in Texas. The detachment is about 70 strong.

Hook 'Em!

RPI's room and board scholarship is automatic. If you have a merit based or need based financial aid, it will automatically convert to a room and board scholarship. If you don't have any aid, you automatically get the R&B scholarship. It's a great deal at an expensive school. I am sure it varies from school to school, but most will be automatic.
My friends son is also looking into RPI & Rochester, but heard RPI is a tech school with extremely smart competitive kids where as Rochester is more diverse? He will major in systems or computer engineering. He is only interested in NROTC schools that offers full R&B, which is unfortunately limited.
Marquette in WI and Illinois Tech offers free room and board as does University of San Diego.
