No ice... not nice.

Funny how it wasn't a Cadet that started this thread, yet a Cadet is defending the situation and not complaining. Our DD only mentioned it in passing; more bummed about the waffles:(

Not complaining about ice, but got in a dig on her Commander in Chief.

How is saying Trump signed an EO imposing a hiring freeze a dig? He did do that, and she didn't even criticize it. She merely recognized that the freeze has had consequences.

For one, he is her Commander in Chief and your President. He should be called President Trump. You don't call your doctor "Jones" do you? It shows respect for the office.

This from the woman who called another poster a "Clintonite" as a feeble attempt at to insult another poster who may or may not have supported Secretary Clinton. She was Secretary of State, you know, and it's disrespectful to turn her name into a what you supposed was a durogatory adjective. At any rate, I'm sure DJT doesn't really care if a cadet refers to him by last name only. The guy is the catalyst of the birther conspiracy theory and essentially called President Obama a fraud. That's okay, he has bigger things to worry about, such as dismal 35% approval rating, failed healthcare bill, wholly unsupported an unsubstantiated tweetstorm wiretapping claim (in which he referred to President Obama as "Obama"-- if you want respect, give respect), and then there's that growing Russia connection investigation that must be somewhat troubling. At any rate, I stand by my post. The cadet did not make a dig on the President. She expressed her personal experience with icegate and wafflegate and attributed it (in part) to the federal hiring freeze. No worries though, she's surviving.

Please no "fake news" response. Not interested.

HaHa... I knew it. I can spot them a mile away.

LOL, you cannot be serious.
Always looking for a fight. Maybe you should get another hobby. Just a suggestion....

Thanks for the advice. I don't usually take suggestions from college kids, but I'll give it some thought.

I really don't look for fights, but I believe in our country, and if I ruffle a few feathers doing what I think is right, I don't mind.

My ideas and values differ greatly from many that supported HRC and Bernie Sanders. I'm not going to apologise for that, and frankly wouldn't expect you or any of your peeps to understand.

I'm curious, what "right" do you believe you are defending by attacking a cadet who clarified the situation by stating the simple fact (one that was TOLD to us by our superiors) that the President's inauguration has caused the Mitchell Hall hiring freeze? Goodness gracious, not everything is political. I know this might be shocking to hear, but I don't care about your (or any other poster's, for that matter!) political beliefs, and I'm going to take a wild guess and say many others feel the same. This isn't a political forum.
Additionally, I find it incredibly ironic that you belittle me (and other cadets on here) because I'm a "college kid", and yet as far as I know, you do not attend the US Air Force Academy and never have, but continue to make grand suggestions about our current conditions (and the causes behind them) here at USAFA in your numerous posts. It really grinds my gears when people get on here and speculate about the "state of the wing" from hundreds to thousands of miles away. And even worse? When they are defensive when they're wrong... ugh.
But hey, I'm just an ignorant young person, and thus I am still likely weeping over Bernie's loss as I try to console myself through this post. Right...? But hey, it's a free country, so I'm probably just talking into an echo chamber here anyways.

Lastly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY... Capri's DD has it completely wrong. The omelette bar is a MUCH bigger loss than the waffles. ;)

Apples and oranges, @Sulu. HRC deserves to be incarcerated for Benghazi.

I read someplace a quote attributed to Byzantium:

"A nation that cannot feed itself has one problem. A nation that can feed itself has many problems."

Sounds like one of those problems is unrefrigerated drinks at a university providing a free education, adulation of their countrymen and guaranteed high payed employment to its graduates.

I wonder who would laugh harder: my high school football coach or the folks lined up at the water truck in a Syrian refugee camp.

I'll assume this was an April Fools joke and that I was fooled.

Amazing that Parents are whining here also about the horrific conditions at Mitchell Hall.

Doomsday I tell ya. Probably the same type that were whining about their kids having to do too many pushups and threatening to do whatever about it if it didnt cease..... probably also mailed photos or embedded stuff on the letters and tried to skirt clearly spelled out rules during bct. Probably the same type that hounded the Academy and or Webguy during bct that resulted in a terse message to parents that such actions were making things worse and to stop.

I shake my head numerous times a week at the PARENTS. Your kids are not kids. They are adults and volunteered to attend USAFA.

No ice. No waffles. No omelettes. Who gives a crap.

I'd also like to thank whomever it was that posted the comical fictional mini political tirade. Thanks. I needed a good chuckle.

What keeps on whining even after the engines are shut down? Aircrew. Ya'll would have made some fine aviators fosho! I'm going to have to tell this story to some of the grunts I work with. Waahhhhaaahhhhaaa!
