Class of 2021 USNA Appointment Thread

*raises hand* @twnavy ; I found the waitlisted threads from earlier today kind-of helpful and I emailed my BGO. I will probably be calling Admissions in the near future to inquire about where I rank on the list

I was wait-listed as well, I think it just means we get to wait longer than April 15th for our appointments! Best of luck to both of us!

Last year my DS was wait listed and had to wait until mid June to find out that he didn't get in.
However, he got an email from admissions to suggest he reapply because they thought he was a strong applicant. They suggested the courses he should take etc.. He reapplied, went to his plan B school and got his appointment this year! It seemed like a lot of work, but looking at it now, he is so much better prepared after having spent one year at college and rotc and feels truly excited about plebe year! My suggestion ,even if it doesn't work out this year " don't give up the ship" !! Waitlisted applicants have a great chance of success the following year!
 
There is no ranking on the wait list and if they did, they wouldn't disclose it. If it goes like past years they will cut the wait list some in early-mid May. This is based upon the yield rate of the class. They know at that point how many have accepted and where they are with the target number. They usually then do another cut right before I Day. The past few years very few have gotten off the wait list.

Has anyone received the BFE with all of the paperwork that needs to be completed before Induction day? Or does anyone know when these are usually sent out? Thank you for your help!

I have not received the BFE yet; only three documents which need to be filled out are posted on the portal. I did read somewhere that the BFE would arrive late April to early May.
 
I have it from VERY good resources...the "BFE" refers to the beautiful navy blue padded folder with letter of Appointment. Yes, the link from the Acceptance of Appointment page has 3 things to provide: 1) Proof of Citizenship 2) Promise not to mark or mutilate and 3) Police Records release. The "Permit to Report" packet is MUCH more detailed and will arrive in late April or early May. Others have posted what's in the Permit to Report for 2020 which should be very similar to this year's Class of 2021.

By "very few have gotten off the wait list", do you mean very few actually get accepted or very few get denied?
 
The Permit to Report has a long list of items. It is usually released early April. The class of 2020 will probably be very close to 2021's PTR.

I dont think there is a Wait List thread. From what I have heard, being on the wait list is kinda rare (usually only around 70-120 students on the list in the nation, annually). You can always create the tread if you want, or just ask other members some questions, I personally e-mailed my BGO on Monday regarding my questions: If he doesnt answer back soon I will rely on the forum.

Just asking for clarification please. Your portal changed from CPR (complete pending review) to WAITLIST?
