NASS acceptances

DD was waiting for NASS, and also apply first days, so when Air Force answer right away she take it, and then Army offer she take it too, WP (top choice), so now NASS offer in the week she is already booked with other Academy, so not possible even she will love attend NASS, so 2 from 3, and today 1 extra, spot free in session 2.

I just got my acceptance email today (which I declined) so if you havent been accepted yet, dont despair! Acceptances are still rolling out and there is at least one freshly open slot after today.

Last year my DS was denied, but we never got an email so called in April just wanting to know and get his candidate number. I called at the right time. The lady told me he was denied, but had several slots opened from others who had turned down their spot so she asked is DS wanted to still go. He loved it and we are now waiting to see if he receives an appointment. No does not me no...it means not right now...

To all those who have been selected for a week they are already going to SLE or AFA's version of NASS, you can call or email the admissions office and try to switch to the other weeks you aren't going to another one

It had appeared that some acceptances were released each Tuesday, but from the lack of activity on this thread, there weren't any today. I just hope for my DS's sake that he hears something soon. He applied on the first date applications opened. Is there any rhyme or reason as to why and when they send out early notifications?

There might be a rhyme or reason but they don't share it much. Tell him to not take it personally, they may not need to lock down candidates from your region right away to show them the delights of the USNA like some other regions?

My guess is that the snowstorm delayed things and that another wave will come later this week, but I could wrong.

We are in the same boat waiting, holding out hope for NASS. I know it doesn't effect Academy acceptance, but it sure would be a good experience and help him know if it's definitely the direction he wants to head.

It is an amazing experience for them! It may not rack up admission points but I wouldn't say it doesn't effect acceptance. Meaning, they get an app opened, a CFA done and a review from their detailer. Maybe most importantly, they may fall in love with the place, which gives them (and you) the big boost they will need to get through all the paperwork and interviews and DoDMERB technicalities to gain admission.

I agree as the academy posted on instagram saying they were closed due to the bad weather.

DD got acceptance today.... back on the rollercoaster... DS is class of 2018. Anyone had luck trying to change the session?

DS received his acceptance email today. Session 3, here we come!

Talking to him today about it, he reminded me that he already spent a week there last summer during their "elite swim camp". It's been such a busy year that it slipped my mind!

Anyone out there still not heard back? DS applied in February and hasn't heard anything yet.

My DD is right there with you. She applied in mid January and hasn't heard back in regards to NASS. She spoke to her BGO and its probably not going to happen from his perspective. BGO stated that MD residents have a slim chance since the Selection Committee feels they already "know" about the Academy and the close proximity to Annapolis is a factor. I don't necessarily agree 100% with that assessment but the Academy holds all the cards.

Thanks for the response. He was accepted to SLE within days of applying so am just wondering how much longer he will need to wait before he hears anything. Good luck to your daughter!

Still waiting here too. I applied in late January. Everyone I met at the CVW last week was still waiting to hear about NASS as well.

Still waiting here as well. From what I understand session 1 is full. Maybe some spots left for session 2&3. I haven't seen any NASS denials sent yet. My guess is that everyone will finally hear back next week. April 15 is the deadline but that is a Saturday. My guess is 4/11 will be the big denial day as many waves have come on Tuesdays.
