My DS applied to three; USAFA, USMA, and USNA. He received appointment to USMA in early February, appointment to USAFA in early March, and TWE from USNA a couple of days after accepting USAFA. He declined USMA right after accepting USAFA and was going to withdraw from USNA but the TWE saved him the time. I've heard that none of the SA's communicate concerning appointments, but did find it odd the USNA sent the TWE within two days of accepting USAFA and declining USMA.

So say for example he accepts USNA and then gets appointment at one of the other 2 what would happen if he then wanted that one more? Is he obligated to the first one accepted?

First off, I wouldn't advise anyone to think about hitting the "accept appointment" button on their portal until they 1.) Know with certainty they want to attend THAT SA...no matter who offers appointments going forward; or 2.) All appointment opportunities/options are exhausted and you have done the due diligence investigating what's best for you.

I would think it would be pretty rare for an appointee to accept an appointment before they have ruled out the other SA's. That said, yes, you would be able to excuse yourself from one to the other after accepting the first but please let the academy know you're leaving so they can get a replacement.
 
DS applied and appointed to both USMA and USAFA. [Did not apply to USNA.]
Notified Feb 13 and March 9.

This was pure speculation on my part as my DD only applied to USAFA.
I was just curious as many have current offers from one academy and may have to accept or decline by a certain date and may not have received an offer from the other academy.

I think he/she is morally obligated once he/she decides to accept. I have no idea if there are any official rules that govern accepting or declining appointments. I don't think it's right to accept multiple appointments knowing only one can be chosen in the end. You are given a deadline to accept or decline, so there are no surprises on the deadline.
I guess where it could be tricky would be if you accepted an USAFA appointment on April 15 (the deadline) and was then offered a USNA or USMA appointment after that date. If the USNA or USMA was the preference, I can see a dilemma.

According to my Admissions Advisor and many other forum members, yes. Since Saturday is the deadline for Appointees to accept or decline their offers, I believe USAFA will spend the weekend redistributing those appointments that have been declined to those next on the "waiting list". I'm only a hopeful candidate lol but that's my guess. Anyone with a more accurate response please don't hesitate to correct me.

We are in CA-25 with a Principle Nomination like feathergoat17 in CA-37 - Looks like the three of us out here in Southern California are still waiting for word, hopefully by the end of this week.
