Northwestern Prep

I'm happy to answer any in depth questions any of you have by pm. Nwp is a great school but it is a little risky to go as a free agent. I think it's great for Falcons. You get a semester at civilian college so it's really the best of both worlds. The Durbecks are wonderful and are more than happy to talk on the phone with you in more detail as well.

Hi - What makes NWP unique over NMMI, Greystone, and MMI? I can't seem to find a post/thread discussing each Civil Prep program's strengths/weaknesses? Thanks in advance!
Our daughter attended NWP as a free agent in 2013, and got her appointment to the class of 2018. It is best if you talk to the Durbecks directly, but here is my view of the difference. NWP does not spend time with what the academies will teach you such as wearing uniforms, marching, military customs, etc. The academies are very good at that. NWP is designed to prep you so that your re-application is as strong as possible. You will attend classes, work on memorization and vocabulary, and you will work out with the CFA in mind. That is also why NWP is only one semester. Your re-application will be complete before you leave there, and then you will head to a college of your choice to take Calc, Physics, Chem, etc. to show that you can handle college level work.

To me, this makes a lot of sense. It worked well for my daughter. All of her scores improved during the semester at NWP, and she received her appointment early, in January, which allowed her to mentally prepare while attending the local college. I recommend you call NWP and talk to Mrs. Durbeck.

I'm from Southern Indiana and I will be attending NWP with a FFS. Can't wait to see you all there!
