Very true... waiting here in West Palm Beach. Got a nomination in NH and moved to south FL right after the completion of my application. I am really determined to get a prep school appointment. I would be just as happy. My admissions counselor said that something should show on my portal at the end of March saying I was rejected. Fortunately, still says "Candidate". I know many people have already gotten a TWE (even a few people I know personally) so this means that we are really competitive still. A prep school appointment is still good. It just means we need some polishing. A senior member of my Civil Air Patrol squadron said that the "preppies" always do really well and even graduate toward the top the their class. The biggest battle we face as young adults is the radically early development of our future. To be candidates at this point means we have been doing things right for the past 4-5 years. The future looks bright. I myself am looking at enlisting and reapplying to the academy. It just takes work. Good luck to all. I feel your pain...

My DS sent an email a week ago asking if there was an estimate on acceptance/TWEs. He also did not receive a response. My understanding is that there is, for some reason, quite a delay this year. There was some question as to whether or not it has to do with the new SAT and difficulty with ranking?

I would just like to say that I really like the USAFA admissions correspondence language. I love the "your appointment!" and once the candidate accepts the appointment, he/she receives a message of "Congratulations on a fine choice!" -- isn't that funny? At my house for some reason, we thought that was hilarious. Waiting for Mr. MMI to wake up and check his phone and call his mama in PA with good news...Waiting for everyone on this thread to share good news. There are many who would have waited until yesterday to make a decision--so hopefully in the week ahead, the newly open spots will be filled with each of you.
 
This is my first time posting, but I have been following the forums since Dec. when I first found it. Reading some of the postings have been my on-line emotional support. My DS is hoping for a prep school appoinment from USAFA. Yesterday I was told that prep school offer has been pretty much filled that they don't have too many spots left. I thought USAFA will start prep school offer in the later part of April to May. Does anybody have any additional information to share about USAFA prep school offer this year? If you are given an offer to PS when do they have reply back the decision? Is it April 15th too?

The fact that their is a delay this year makes me feel a little better. Hope your DS hears back soon!
 
Now that is sounds like the TWEs are starting to trickle out, the pins and needles on this end have increased tenfold.
