Congratulations!!! Check out R-MA in Front Royal, VA.The program is excellent! DS loves it! All 8 Falcon Scholars received their appointments.
 
FYI Letting you all know, my son, who had an offer of appointment to USAFA, declined today in favor of West Point. He had not received anything from USAFA since his application was completed months ago until last Friday morning when he was emailed that he was being offered an appointment. He thought about it for a few days and declined this afternoon. I hope one of you gets good news soon, because an appointment is now back in the hopper! Best to all!

Sorry! We are from Arizona Congressional District 8, but he had a Presidential nom as well.
 
Considering the fact that USAFA has no wait list, can anyone reasonably speculate what scenarios would make someone who is nominated and medically qualified (3Q'd?) still officially have Candidate status at this point? DS has reached out, no answers being given.

More than likely for last minute appointments. There still may be a few slots to finalize the class of 2021 out. And, it only takes one person to make a stupid mistake (arrest, fail a core class, last minute mind change, etc.) to open up another slot.

Many congratulations to your son,BTW. I guess the shock has worn off by now? I know slots will open, but based upon last year most of the appointments were from TWEs. If there were appointments to be filled after the dreaded April 17th date and people were left Candidates due to those unfilled slots at that time, I just wonder they are still unfilled by now.

Thank you! I plan to accept the Falcon scholarship, but the parents want me to continue on with the AFROTC type seven only a few hours from home. I guess we will be having a fun conversation tonight!
 
You might want to talk to your guidance counselor and a trusted teacher before you talk to your parents.
 
I talked to my JROTC instructors this morning. They strongly recommend taking the Falcon Scholarship, while it is the best chance to get into USAFA. "Golden Ticket" I was going to reapply next year through ROTC if I went that way
