Well, we are closing in towards I-Day. DS is working through the checklist and has only the immunization and bloodwork stuff to complete. He was a pin cushion yesterday with 3 shots and blood being drawn. He now received a called this morning from our doctor stating he needs another shot o_O

After this, he should be good to go as all other items have a checkmark. Best of luck to all of the others finalizing their checklist and getting mentally/physically prepared for I-Day. Our travel is booked and we're ready to head west.

I know i don't belong on this thread any longer...but I am just so happy for your DS/Pin Cushion! <3
At our house for USMA, we still have to go to the dentist for a PanX, bite-wings, and a dental check up. Too late for wisdom teeth to be removed.
Good luck to all.

Graduation today seemed to bring back a flood of memories for the year. This time a year ago we hosted a party at the house for our newly graduated high school student. A few weeks later me, my DS and his two brothers left to drive him to I Day (his mom had a work event and flew out to meet us in Colorado Springs the night before I Day. It seems like yesterday.

I spoke to my DS last night and you could hear the excitement in his voice although he complained of having to be ready for 6:30 this morning. He stood at the stage as part of the Honor Guard which was nice but his squad finished as the top squad for the year so the rest of his squad got a seat on stage.

I can't believe how quickly the year has passed. I am excited for those of you getting ready to start this crazy journey as both Cadets and parents. I am proud of the new 2Lts. I got to meet during this year.

And the list is complete. Now we wait. So excited for DS. He's been running (which isn't asking too much since he ran XC and Track for 4 years), doing pull-ups, push-ups, burpees, etc trying to be prepared. He's excited for the next chapter and the challenge.

Still waiting for the Academy to sign off on DS's immunization record. It's been submitted for almost 2 weeks. All shots and bloodwork are complete. Once that is done, he can click the button for Travel Authorization (still grayed out). Hoping it gets finalized soon.

My policy is to visit the USAFA and USNA forums periodically, just long enough to stir things up so folks are almost mad at me but not quite, and then ditch back to the safety of the USMA forum. LOL.
