United States Naval Academy Application Status Change Notification?

Congrats TechFlier7! My DS is hoping to join you shortly - God willing - but in either case - take care of yourself, stay fit - and DO NOT ease up on the Academics! "Senioritis" can take its toll as well. Stay focused but relax & have fun!

Congratulations TechFlier7!! My DD received a similar email on Monday but her status was changed to "Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA". She does not qualify for a Presidential nomination, so she must get a MOC Nom in order to convert the LOA to an Appointment.

She is VERY excited, but will keep working as she knows she has not crossed the finish line (well, start line, actually!) yet! Hope to see you in about 281 days!

281 and Counting! Can't wait! I'm sure your Daughter will get all she needs to put her through.

Congratulations TechFlier7! Now, keep up with your academics, your PT, and stay safe & healthy.

Awesome,------- Congrats!

Now 2 things: 1) Run out and buy the most absoulutely perfect pair of sunglasses you can find; srcew the cost, but no mirrors or bright plastic frames. These will be your ONLY fashion statement for the next four years. 2) Track down your Mom, Dad, or most significant influence and sincerly thank them for lessons they taught along the way. Whatever words you use in that moment will ring in their ears for a very very long time.

I will do my best to do that, thank you again!

Situps: 95
Pushups: 36

Hope this helps, if you need anything else feel free to ask!

What do you think gave you the appointment, then? Was it a great personal statement?

Could have been. I did my best to show that I was as well rounded as possible. I explained not only my reason for lack in physical activities, but how I was going to fix it and explained and showed proof of me fixing it. In terms of Academics I explained my various other participation to show how I couldn't fully divert time to perfecting SAT scores and stuff like that, and that I had other activities and still managed decent grades. I also made sure to explain all my leadership positions in my interview, to show how much each contributed to a certain leadership aspect of myself. I basically set myself up where there was no large reason for the Academy NOT to accept me. Meaning, I didn't leave anything unexplained, or unaccounted for. The only way the Academy wouldn't accept me would be if my core academics, physical fitness and morals were not up to the standard they needed it to be in comparison to the other applicants.

Hope this helps again,

TechFlier
