Rated Supplemental Board

Got a Pilot slot! My commander said there were approximately 200 slots given. Good luck to everyone.
Congrats. I would assume that if 200 slots were given out, there must have been 200 spots that were taken back after they were given out last year. My son went with three others to Wright Patterson for their Pilot Medical and he was the only one that passed. Two went down to RPA and cant remember what happened to the last one.
What most likely happened is that they reevaluated and need more rated slots in general, not that they were all eliminated. The Air Force and military in general are expanding like crazy now.
That sounds right except there are still only 4 UPT bases, have the same number of training planes and they are already running at capacity. Not sure how they could fit more people in. It would be great if they could
It would be great and they're working on it. I'm in another rated career field and am seeing the same thing happening. Our dates are pushed months beyond what they typically are and more are coming.
We are all curious how long he will be home before he has to go to UPT. I know that they typically go in even before their class starts. My wife and I would love to spend some time with him before he goes in. The worse part is waiting for his orders. Will he have 4 months at home, 6 months or possible a year at home? It would be nice to know upfront

I think its kind of all over the place at the moment. I have had classmates report to UPT 2 months after commissioning and others took over a year. I also have a friend who commissioned last week and is reporting to UPT in January.

You are right, that is all over the place. Do you know how much notice they give you. I would assume the 2 month guy and the one that go commissioned heard it pretty quick. But the guy who took a year off, do you know how long before they told him. My son's Chord Father from Arnold Air (if that means anything) also waited about a year

It's all over the place and if you get a date there's no promising that it won't change. I was told I would have 9ish months at home then I was told a couple months later that I have 1.5 months until I leave. That's just the life in the military. You should get an initial EAD before you even commission but like I said, that often changes.

Our DSs date changed 4 times in total.
1st date: May 10th. OOPS problem there since his last final was May 12th, and commissioning May 25th. The other 12 with UPT slots had dates starting Aug.
2nd date: May 28th. OOPS problem there since it was a 4 day PCS and he was commissioning on May 25th.
3rd date: August 8th. DS started calling the det end of June, waiting for his orders. Mid July, they called and changed it.
4th date: Sept. 30th. That is the one they stuck with

Yeah I went to Wright Patterson over the summer and we lost 4 out of 20 I believe due to medical.
I am curious, when you went to Wright Patterson, what position were you original given
I was originally given RPA, I was missing the LEAD or field training portion of my score due to a medical deferral. I received RPA in the February boards. I went to my physical in July as well as LEAD.

What were your stats in regards to PCSM, GPA, etc if you dont mind me asking?
