NROTC ‘unsubmitted’ application

DS completed his NROTC application in mid August with all of his supporting documentation (rec letters, transcripts, etc.) in early September. His status stated that his application was complete and was at NETC for selection determination—until today.

Then, this morning DS received an email stating his application has been unsubmitted (that was the exact wording). Now, when logging into NROTC website he can open his application, which is fully completed, and waiting for submission. Very bizarre. This same application was completed and submitted months ago and waiting to be boarded with previous confirmation of the same.

Do not understand how or why this happened. Do not know what triggered this. He has contacted his local recruiter and emailed the folks at NROTC to determine why this happened and what can be done to remedy it. He worked diligently to get his application done as early as possible and receiving this email stating his application is unsubmitted is real blow. Hoping it is just a ‘one off’ glitch that can be corrected.

Has anybody on this forum had this happen or have any suggestions. Many thanks...

No idea. Work with the scholarship coordinator/recruiter to get the issue taken care of. Very strange. Never heard of it before.

The NROTC folks were as perplexed as my DS was. They were able to re-submit his application, however, it now appears as if he just sent it in rather than showing up as complete in August. Do not know if that makes any sort of difference. His local recruiter is trying to see how quickly he can get the application to ascend the ranks to be boarded. Time will tell...again, a very odd occurrence.

When it's marked as arrived should make no difference. Mox nix. The only advantage to getting t in early is that it goes before more boards.

Ouch! Kinnem, my 4 years of German are screaming in pain right now. At least go with “Es macht nichts”
