NAPS Class of 2019 Appointment Thread

Newport can be very, very cold. Gear Up and good luck. My DD had some best Company friends that were NAPSTERS. It is a great town if you are wearing those Dress Whites on Thames Street.

NAPSters don’t get whites. They get working blues / Johnny Cashes, SBD’s, and NWU’s. Gotta wait until Annapolis for the whites.

They do get Whites for Down Town. Blueberries would be a joke on Thanes Street. Hard to tell Napsters from OCS if they are walking around. Only if you look at the Cover can you tell.

My daughter was NAPS 2016. They do not get whites.

DS is currently a Napster with the class of 2018. They do not get whites.

Do NAPSters have to wear Uniforms on liberty now ? Newport is a great town, no matter what you wear ! I actually get back to Newport more often than I get to Annapolis since I have in-laws (met wife while at NAPS) nearby.

To you all who were appointed to NAPS, do mind me asking how you were notified? Was it by mail, email, a call, or anything else?

I received an email (in my spam oddly enough), then got my BFE a few days later
Thank you! Im praying I will have the opportunity to join you guys unless I get the superintendent or vice presidential nomination which is slim. Congrats on your appointment to NAPS as well!

This may not be the correct thread or may not even be a question anyone can answer but the forums help alot so here goes :)
My DS has a nom for USMA and USMA, He did not get one for USNA which is really what he wants. Since he did not get a nomination for USNA is he still able to get into the NAPS? i wont speak for him but i think he might take it over the other two nominations.

Yes, a nom is not required to attend NAPS.

How do most get into Naps? Is it political at all?
I second that, who exactly gets to attend NAPS?
I am in no position to speak on behalf of NAPS or USNA but I am under the impression that those who attend NAPS fall into three groups: Prior Service members who spend a year to getting back into the student lifestyle, recruited athletes who need to develop the skills needed to both balance D1 athletics and a military lifestyle, and lastly highly qualified high school students who the academy feels could use another year to develop themselves so that they succeed to the highest degree possible at Annapolis.
