So I received a letter of appointment on my USAFA Portal. I received a presidential, congressional, and senatorial nomination. Is there any way for me to see what nomination my appointment is under. Also, will I receive a letter by mail or only online?
 
@HS11 don't forget to add your name to the list, and congratulations on your appointment! I don't believe there is any way you will find out which congressional slate gained you an appointment, and you will not receive a letter in the mail. You can only print out the letter that is in your portal mailbox. Once again, congratulations, and add your name - you are #52 on the list!

Not the first wave, but the big wave of appointment should be around Mid March. Those of you waiting, you are on the home stretch. Some notice will come with a phone call from your MCO. But, this is not the case for most of you waiting. You will get a notice by email, that your portal has an update. Then check to see the appointment on the portal. Or my DS case he checked the portal every day at midnight(PST) and around mid-March found the appointment before the email. Once again good luck to all of you waiting.

So, portals update at midnight? Also, will a rejection come via portal/email or only TWE?

If appointment will only be received via portal/email, who receives the BFE? Will the TWE come without a portal update/email? I thought there would be a snail mail regardless but was curious about the timing of the portal updates. Sorry, just a mom of a hopeful DS trying to understand how this works as we anxiously await :)

When I was declined last year I received an email stating I had a new message from USAFA. In both the email and in my portal I was told I was not going to be receiving an appointment. I'm really hoping I receive something different this year around lol. Best of luck to you all.
 
There is no longer a literal BFE or TWE in snail mail. Everything is done online through the portal and email now.
 
BTW, last year DS received a physical "Certificate of Appointment" from his ALO after he had accepted his appointment.

All communication by USAFA is by email. Good or bad, you will get an email to check the update. The certificate, if you get an appointment, will be given to the appointee by the ALO.

The update for the portal take place around 1 am Mountain Time, Which is 12 am Pacific Time.
