If I were interested in applying to more than one SA, is it possible to get nominations for more than one academy from my district representative? I understand it may vary by individual, but is this a common practice, and does anyone have experience with this?

In 2015, my DS asked his MOC for a switch of his nom from one Academy to another and was granted the change.

It depends on the individual MOC's policy. If they have many applicants, they may limit it to one per person. Others, may be willing to grant multiple nominations, even in a very competitive district, so there is no set answer. My DS did get two nominations from our representative.

Thank you, that clears up a lot! I'll make sure to ask my MOC when I can about specifics.

It just depends on where you live and how many other people apply in your district. Typically, they will not double or triple nominate if they have more than 10 qualified applicants.

If you only have a pool of 5 applicants for all three, they are pretty likely to nominate each to all three.

We're in a lightly competitive district...DS first choice was USNA, but had an LOA from USMA. MOC gave him noms to both. He ended up giving out about 8 noms to USNA and 10 to USMA.
