BFE?

I am making this thread because I assume other appointees have the same question. Does USAFA mail out fancy appointment certificates/BFE (big fat envelopes)? I remember my buddy (who is a part of USMA '21) posting a picture with his, and I was curious if USAFA did something similar.

Thanks! I assume that would be the ALO assigned to my area? Since they changed up the interview process, my actual ALO lives on the other side of the country.
 
USMA send out a BFE to you. But, USAFA, like usafah said, AOL will present the certificate at school or other functions. Congratulations on getting your appointment.

Yes, it should be the one in your area.
 
Talk to your school's counselor that handles all things senior related. Hopefully, you have some kind of senior awards/scholarship announcement assembly towards the end of the year and you can be presented with your certificate at that gathering. And yes, the local ALO will do the presentation. That's how our DS received his. It was very cool to have his entire senior class hear the ALO's speech and see him receive his certificate.
 
I think the last class to get an actual BFE was USAFA 2017. After that, they changed to portal updates and email notifications much to the disappointment of the new appointees. The actual appointment certificate will generally come from the ALO, either given personally, mailed or presented at a school or club appointee ceremony. Our parents club hosts a breakfast for the new appointees and their certificates are given there. Our school, however, did not allow our ALO to do it at a school presentation, to be PC (lol). Hope this helps. Also, the old USAFA BFE was more an appointee packet and the actual certificate was not enclosed like WP or Navy does.
