School walkout

[QUOTE="No , they don’t walk out. They just occasionally use their guns to kill other students.[/QUOTE]

I find this type of reply highly immature and offensive. I've been reading this quietly for a couple days now. As the director of our state junior high power rifle team age 13-20, I feel that I need to say something... I've been in charge of the program for the last five years teaching the 2nd Amendment, safety, and the discipline of competitive shooting. We produced so far an USNA pilot, USAFA pilot, two new US Marines, three Army ROTC college students, two USNA Midshipmen including my child who is current shooting for, YES, the USNA High Power Rifle and Pistol Team. To simply assume that pro 2nd Amendment kids will shoot their classmates is again, highly offensive to me personally and my entire State Juniors Program. Learn something before shooting your mouth off. Show me an NRA member who is responsible for mass shooting. Ridiculous and childish comment.

@April75 Yea, I was just about to say the exact same thing. I guess some peoples' true views come out when they can't win an argument in a civil manner. I'll be sure to remember this the next time I talk with anyone who is pro 2nd-amendment, they might just fly off the handle and shoot me lol.

"Common sense" and "feel good" are really synonymous phrases in the gun debate. It's only time that separates the linguistic transition from "Common sense" to "doubleplus bellyfeel."
I'm looking forward to someday experiencing "doubleplus bellyfeel".

I am surprised this thread didn’t get stopped by a moderator.

I have a child in high school and she didn’t walk out. Her school try to disguise the walkout as a honoring the FL shooting victims, had all students gather in the auditorium first, then go outside for 17 minutes of silence to honor the FL shooting victims. Of course I get an email stating any student who wishes to not participate would just stay in the auditorium. To my surprise, my child didn’t participate. She is apolitical. Her rational, it was pointless. And students that stayed had to endure the disapproving looks made by some students as they walked out.

Justice Thomas said that the Second Amendment is a disfavored right. Not a Constitutional scholar, but don’t remember learning that one right was more important than another right. The idea that assault weapons ban are Constituionaly upheld are partially true as the Supreme Court hasn’t heard any cases involving assault weapons ban in last 50 years or more. My guess is that certain Supreme Court justices are avoiding those cases to avoids making decisions.

I consider myself not as a 2nd Amendment supporter, but a supportor of the Constitution. Why does an innocent person need 4th or 5th Amendment rights? Did anyone ever hear me advocating to limit the 4th and 5th Amendment? How torturing a criminal to save kidnap victim’s life?

There is a video on Youtube where a guy goes around a college campus trying to get a petition signed in order to get rid of the First Amendment. He simply told them that since it allows hurtful or hate speech that it should be take away. Plenty of people were happy to sign. Side note, he was trying to make a point, he isnt against he 1st Amendment.

The good news:
17-year-old Maryland school shooter (yesterday) dead. Two students he shot, not dead.
24-year-old Austin Texas bomber blew himself up today.

Bags are cheaper than prison terms. This week is a double-win.
