Hi all- curious to know if anybody has heard results from the 3rd board yet? DS is waiting still & getting worried. At this point are there still any 4yr scholarships left or are they all awarded during the first two boards? Thanks for your feedback!

I think it is too soon to hear... earliest could be next week, but we shouldn’t be surprised if the results are not out for over a week (like the first board results). I can’t answer the question about what types are left...

Patience. You don't need to know the result until mid to late April, and if it's a negative response, execute your plan B. Be sure you have plan B laid out and ready, just in case. We didn't get a negative reply until mid-April but it was fine as we had plenty of time to lock in plan B.

The explanation to boarded/under consideration changed on my DS's portal. It used to just say "Applicant was reviewed by the OCT 17 or JAN 18 Selections Board and was not selected at that time. These applicants remain eligible to receive an offer after our final Selection Board that convened on 3/19/2018." Today it changed to......

Boarded/Under Consideration:

Applicants in this status fall into one of two categories:

Category 1: Applicant was reviewed by the OCT 17 or JAN 18 Selections Board and was not selected at that time. These applicants remain eligible to receive an offer after our final Selection Board that convened on 3/19/2018.

Category 2: Applicant was reviewed by the MAR 2018 Selection Board and remain eligible to receive an offer from that Board.

Not really sure what this means. They seem a bit redundant of each other, each category is saying that that you are still eligible to receive a scholarship for the March board.

From what I've been told they tend to wait until the last board to hand out most the 4 year scholarships and they can upgrade people with 3 years to 4 if they make the cut. I also believe that the results will be some time in early April. The last boards results were released the Tuesday after the conclusion of the board. However, the March board likely has many more applicants than the January board so the results may take longer.

I wonder whether the 2nd board results were released very soon after the board dates because of the board's having been delayed by one week - as a way of catching up, in other words. If so, then getting results this Tuesday would be unlikely and we'd be looking at early April results, instead.

Judging by last year's 3rd board dates (which as far as I can tell were a March 13 board with results about April 11th), we'd be looking for results around April 16th.

An excellent opportunity to cultivate the virtue of patience.

I think my patience has been cultivated enough! LOL!

Ha! Lemme tell you, I'm not there yet!

We've been waiting on something since Sept. MOC interview, then nominations, SAT scores, ACT scores, Dodmerb results, Dodmerb results after remedial, medical waiver submissions, medical waiver approvals, college acceptances, ROTC scholarship boards, etc., etc. My DS has applied to all five SAs, all three ROTC scholarships, nine civilian colleges, and several other scholarships through the school. On top of this, I may be transferring to Asia from Germany with my company....."waiting" to hear....We have been in a perpetual state of wait for months and I'm just ready for some closure on some of these things so I can plan for the future. However, I know that I have no other option but to wait:-(

So...plan B -- one of my son's colleges ROO (college A) has offered to create a "package" for him if he doesn't get the full ROTC scholarship, but, he is interested in college B also. If we wait to hear about ROTC 4year/3year, afraid we may miss any opportunity at college B -- maybe talking to ROO at college B to see if they can offer anything. Most, if not all, colleges need to hear final decision by May 1. Advice?

You still have about a month before you need to decide on a plan. A week is plenty of time to send deposits. Wait it out.

Same thing here.

The ROO at our kid's first choice has offered essentially half-off the list price for the first year in anticipation kid will receive a 3-year scholarship from the 3rd board.

If not they'd still have the opportunity to win a 3-year scholarship once on campus, of course.

Sure, why not ask for the same deal from college B?

Did anyone elses status change from "boarded/under consideration" to "boarded?" I asked my friend who also applied, but his remained the same. Does this mean anything or is it just random?

Thank you for reading!

Was this the first board your packet went to? My dashboard has a red box around "boarded/UC" that says "category 2: application was reviewed by MAR 2018 selection board and remains eligible to receive an offer from that board"

No sir, I got rejected the second board, but people are experiencing the same thing and are curious to what it means.

Yes, it changed yesterday to Boarded. Am not sure what it means yet.

I have no clue, rejected by second board and status never changed. I assumed that "boarded" was a one-time thing for us applicants and "boarded/UC". Looking at the threads about the second board, there were applicants that never changed from "boarded/UC" that got scholarships. Maybe the change was because the applicants updated their apps. I know that CC was allowing that through MAR 4.

Now my friend's status changed to boarded. Maybe check again?

No change on my end. It could be a glitch, it could be that they re-reviewed the applicants that went back to "boarded". They could also be doing it alphabetically since it looks like they've been changing over at different times. It could also be based on OML ranking and they're going that way. I'm starting to think it's either a glitch or the board was reviewing the packet again, even if it was a small change.
