Has anyone been rejected yet? Have rejections been going out? I am constantly told how strong and competitive I am and field reps would "be very surprised if you don't get in." But here I am, still waiting.

I am in the same boat as you. I wonder if official correspondence will be in the portal on Thursday...

Well, they were at least getting through some files today. I received my 3Q letter this afternoon, hoping that they resolved my slate.

Why thursday?
I have heard that decisions come out on April 1st, and that will be Easter, so hopefully by the end of this week we hear something. Of course there is a real possibility we hear after this date.
Who was your source if you don’t mind me asking? I am qualified by Usma admissions as of Mar 23, hopefully I hear earlier in the month opposed to later in the month near May 1st

Decisions go out whenever, there really isn't a final date. The 3Q letter says "Majority of appointments go out from February 26 until May 1. But offers of admissions could go out a few days before the class enters."

I don't know if things are done consistently, but my DD got the MOC call on a Thursday and her portal was updated sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. If your portal does not update Thursday it is not necessarily a bad sign. Good luck.

This is probably the first time I browse on USMA blog. We are from WA-5. My DS first choice is USNA and back up plan was USMA. We received TWE yesterday from USMA when he checked his portal. There was no email notification. He was not heart broken because his heart is with USNA. Plan B and C already in place. DS declined congressional US aROTC that specially for him, he would like other deserving students to have it instead. The rejection letter is surprisingly interesting, basically ...you are a very qualified candidate but we don’t have space for you! That put my DS’s ego at ease and continues to wait for USNA. If you want to know how our district did it last year 2017, you could google under our congressionwoman name with service academy appointments. The stat would give you a brief look and impression how each academy select the candidate. Best wishes to your DD and DS, they have to be special people to get this far. If you want to know my real wish is? I wish all of them become physicians. Take care!

I forgot to mention, I think FFR interview is very important although it is optional. DS did not request for the interview because the FFR also the parent of his classmate knowing DS first love is USNA. From my opinion, he should have that interview set up, but we let him make his own decision.

If things weren't looking good for me, would my RC tell me? He has only spoken highly of me and has never said anything looks bad.

My DD's RC that spoke to us at an admissions event in Texas said he had nothing to do with the actual admissions board process. Could have interpreted that wrong but I don't think so.

I asked this question a few days ago and i am still unclear about the FFR interview. The post by Cdkd above says the FFR interview is optional. We were not even aware that there was a FFR interview. It is not a red/yellow/green icon on the portal. I have not seen/read anything stating my DS was to email the FFR for an interview (as one has to do with BGO for USNA). No one has contacted him for an interview. Should he contact his RC or, at this point, is this too late?

DS has spoken with MALO/FFR/RC at several school recruiting briefs, however no mention made of formal interview. I would encourage any candidate offered the opportunity, jump on it!

This seems to be more a matter of don't call us, we'll call you. The no interview scenario is common. We are there too. We looked into it. Try not to worry. We've been 3Qued since February.

Where would you see the TWE in the portal? Is it obvious. We keep looking but there has been no change.

My DD never had an interview request from her FFR. She did not even contact him until a "request for more information" letter was mistakenly posted on her portal. When she did not get a response from her RC or the RC's tech, she reached out and he was very helpful. She has been offered and accepted her appointment. So, I don't think the lack of an FFR interview is a bad sign.

In the portal status changed. You would click on it the letter will appear.

I do not have access to DS portal so I don't know how it looks like. However, after he completed the online candidate registration late last year he received a letter from RD and FFR which mentioned the optional interview.
