Summer Seminar 2018

I applied to NASS the first day the application opened last year and was rejected within a few weeks. Last month I accepted my offer of appointment to the Naval Academy class of 2022. Don't freak out over it! A ton of people don't get into NASS, like me, but still get into the Academy. Also, a ton of people who do get into NASS don't get into the Academy. So don't stress, it's a good experience but not the end of the world. In the c/o 2022 group chat a lot of people are saying if you get into the school you don't want to talk about NASS during plebe year because it'll make the detailers go harder on you.

Has anyone been able to switch their sessions? How long did it take and what was the process?

Yes, for NASS it took about a week and a half for me to switch from Session 1 to Session 3! First, email the summer seminar email provided in the NASS acceptance email. They will do your best to assist you if you politely request for a switch. Then just be patient because they will eventually reply in a two week timespan.

Son applied Feb 20th and we haven't received an email accepting or declining as of yet.

same here --- DS applied mid-February and still no word from NASS. Not knowing has forced decisions for summer plans that will be amended if necessary, but not without
a substantial financial loss.

No word here either. DS applied in early Jan before his CVW. Really wants to go. You are right about the decision impacting summer plans. DS has a nom to Boy's State and is on the WL for the AFASS. Everything is up in the air.

Hoping this tidbit gives other some hope. My DS applied for NASS in February, 2016. I just looked again and his email inviting him to Session 1 was received on May 6th!! He had a great experience and is a proud member of the Class of 2021!

Quick question. Is it possible or too late to update SAT scores for the NASS application. DS scored significantly higher (+100 on the math) on his March test than the one he used for the when he applied.

Has anyone been accepted to Session 3? I applied early March and I thought I wrote a good personal statement, I had all A’s but one, but I did not score as high as I wanted on the PSAT. Thanks for all the helpful tips!

I got accepted to Session 1 USNA SS on January 30 and then to Session 2 USMA SLE on February 23. The acceptances are still ongoing until May 1st. One of my friends just got accepted to Session 3 USNA SS just last week. Still waiting for the USMC All American Academy Selection! Good luck to everyone !

NASS has nothing to do with being "competitive" or "non-competitive". Just so you know.
