By my count, there are only 9 more business days (including today) before April 15th.

There was a live chat with USNA admissions recently and I asked if everyone who is still CPR would hear something by this date and the answer was “Yes!”

Seems like there haven’t been many appointments posted recently. Wonder when the next (final?) wave will start. This is agony!

On another thread, a parent posted that the CPR's are "Schrodinger's Candidates." Pretty apt for the gallows humor at this point. DS is having a very hard time. Was an early junior year CVW invite, NASS, and did nothing but continue to improve in all areas since that time. Above the middle 50% in academics for 2021 class profile, 1520 SAT, 4.0 gpa, too many leadership to list and other SA said he maxed out on leadership points, Sports = state champ in martial arts sparring 2X and CFA max out on 3 events with above average on remaining. First wave, 4 year NROTC, accepted at Ivy League school, first wave of other SA. BGO said one of the best candidates he has ever had. Been CPR since September. Very sad to see him so discouraged and wondering what went wrong. Hopefully, positive news in the next 12 days. Best wishes to all.

Oh crap! I have to get my taxes done!

So as a ray of sunshine: By the end of February each year, 40% of the Offers have been sent.
That leaves March and April for the other 60%. That is over 700 Offers.
It ain't over. No Rubenesque female has been heard singing, as yet! :)

Mine too! If he gets an appointment probably won't accept now because has gotten excited about NROTC at an Ivy. The drawn-out timeframe may have lost the USNA a great mid.

Actually there will be a lot in April. Most of NAPS and Foundation find out in April. USNA does a good job of notifying by April 15th. If a candidate doesn’t find out USNA in the last was good about talking with them why they were in limbo. This is rare and I can only remember one candidate who was in this situation and admissions kept the updated routinely. Also remember that if you receive a waitlist letter you could remain in limbo also. The good part is it is finally April and I hope everyone gets the BFE!

But not the Navy, and that's their end goal, right?

My son also has a NROTC level 1 scholarship that we are waiting to pull the trigger on and needs to do so soon. We have not heard anything from USNA and are eager.

Your son can accept his NROTC scholarship at any time. If he then receives an appointment to a service academy he can inform NROTC and decline the scholarship. Mine both accepted NROTC scholarships right away, then they signed the form letting NROTC know they were accepted into USNA. I mailed that form when we returned from dropping them off at Iday.

similar with my DS cased. BGO also said that to him. He accepted CGA, which is his #1 pick anyway. now half way to graduation and loving all about CG more n more.

My kid received his notice last week and he was disappointed for a few hours. After that I sensed a huge "relief" from him. He simply said, "Bummer, but I had prepared myself for the possibility of not being appointed." He immediately turned Plan B into Plan A and has not looked back since. I've asked if he will be reapply and at this time, he seems adamant that he is not looking back and he plans to "bloom where he is planted". He will be visiting university next week and I think it will help cement his decision.

Mine did the same @ChoirDude and she hasn't looked back. The Navy gives them all the same training - she just got her summer orders to San Diego for CORTRAMID (West) - the exact same training as USNA mids (and all other scholarshp NROTC Mids) will be doing. She just decided that although she was encouraged to re-apply, she didn't want to wait to commission and in the end, her goal was to join the Fleet as soon as possible. So - good luck to your Mid, and to all the others on here, no matter where you go!
