USAFA 2022 Rejection

I understand that the date to accept an offer of appointment is May 15th. Soon after that date some additional slots will open, & offers (admittedly a small #) will go out after that date, as others have pointed out. Continued good luck to all.

Nope, no way. Don't give anything like that a grain of salt. Tell that recruiter to leave it up to the professionals. This is the arena of the USAF and the good people in Colorado. You're still in it until....
We are waiting too. I use this as our barometer. Data points right out of the USAFA. To me the best indicator. Where do you fall in the stats?

Good luck.

What is the difference between the candidate pool and a qualified candidate? - thanks
Qualified medically, physically, and academically. No impediments to appointment. Ready to be chosen. (Hopefully)

Does anybody know of anybody receiving a TWE for a completed and qualified application?

Really, we are still waiting on an answer... trying to keep busy

Edited my post with the link to the thread

Last year it seemed like the massive wave of TWE notices were sent out April 17th. I can only guess that the same scenario will play out again this year around mid-April which is fastly approaching. I have Irish triplets - DS went through this process last year. His twin sisters are going through the process this year. They are so much better at the waiting than I am. We have some solid plans B,C,D in place so I'm not worried about their choices. I just know one DD has her heart set on USAFA and has already made her mind up to reapply if she doesn't get an appointment this year. I'm selfishly thinking "OH NO - not another year of this!" Of course I will support her in whatever she decides to do.

Please advise—my DD is saying medically disqualified. Is it over for her?

She's not out until she recieves a rejection. And even then she's still not entirely out as there have been cases of people recieving appointments after recieving a rejection. Until you hear word, keep your hope alive. Many in the same exact situation are waiting alongside you. This year being my second go around at this process, ive come to the understanding that at this point there is nothing else you can do. It's all in the hands of USAFA admissions. Believe that everything happens for a reason. You will eventually receive the email containing their decision. Best of luck.

My DS has also not received a waiver. I’m staying positive until we get an official “No”. I believe in my son; that he did everything he could to make this dream come true. We are prepared with Plan B and C, but we’re keeping the hope alive. Every day with nothing in the portal means tomorrow could be a “Yes”!

My daughter had asthma on her childhood medical record and an inhaler was prescribed at 14 when she had a cold. We knew she didn’t have asthma, but she was disqualified. We took her to a pulmonologist on our own and had the PFT done. She passed and he wrote a four one report stating she does NOT have asthma (he wrote it in all caps) and we sent that along with the actual test results and DODMERB medicinally qualified her. Might be worth scheduling, it took a few weeks to get into the pulmonologist.

So let me get this correct, If our DS/DD receive TWE, it's game over? Been waiting a long time for this....and being from a military family doesn't seem to help, we have moved several times during my teenager's high school years. I hope it won't affect one's chances for getting an appointment. This is a tough road. I can only imagine what it is like to be these young kids going through it.

Still waiting. MOC's office has heard nothing from AFA and MOC has already filled their slate. Should we take that as a TWE? Proud of my DS for all he has done to make it through this process!

If the TWE comes this year, it is not the end of a dream to attend USAFA. That was our thought first time through this process. In years of prep, researching, Academy visits, summer seminar, ALO, MOC, no one ever, ever mentioned or suggested reapplying or even that applicants even reapplied, nor did they offer any suggestions what to do through that process. It was through the helpful advice and personal contacts from others on this forum that made the difference the second time through. If the TWE comes for your DS/DD, search for threads on reapplying , and reach out to others on this forum through general posting or private message. Just a note....both the TWE and the acceptance a year later both came the third week in April.

Life after TWE...my observations from posts on this forum
TWE>>Falcon Scholarship>>Reapply>>Appointment next year (almost guaranteed)
TWE>>Self Prep (as a new plan B)>>Reapply>>no guarantee of outcome (but success rate seems high based on those sharing here)
TWE>>Plan B/C college/ROTC>>Reapply>>no guarantee of outcome (but the process can favor the college applicant with strong coursework)
TWE>>Plan B/C/D>>LOVE Plan B/C/D and don't even consider reapplying

So, is it game over? If the goal of your game is USAFA Class of 2022 and you received TWE, then yes, that door has closed and it's time to focus on a new goal.
If your goal is USAFA, then figure out the best way for you to improve your application with a year of college/college ROTC/or self prep and reapply.
If your goal is to commission, there are many paths forward that do not include USAFA. Figure out which one is for you. When one door closes, another opens.

And even though everyone wants to talk about the possibility of TWE to Appointment, that scenario is particularly rare. It's better to focus on your new path and put your energy there.

I am curious: how is it that our OP's PlanB fell through?

And if OP is from Colorado, there are surely options on the table. I get it that finances are always a barrier (well, you rich folks can quit reading now),but there are options. There always are options.
