Guarding the Boarder

Stick to the sky. And we’re not Ukraine or Georgia...

Again, you really don’t know. But you talk a good game.

Maybe we should start arming Border Patrol? Oh... we do.

I worked with CBP as a part of my old job, I’ve engaged in immigration enforcement... what do you do again... uh yes, live in the Southwest.... I enjoyed my time in New Mexico... but that didn’t make be a Border Patrol agent.
We arm the border patrol, but they are not equipped to deal with that large a contingent in one place as you should know. 1000 people showing up outside a border crossing would overwhelm them and you're fooling yourself if you say otherwise. And yes, I also worked with the CBP and trained some of their pilots.
And while we aren't the Ukraine or Georgia we are making some of the same mistakes but on a smaller scale. Nothing like plopping a bunch of MS13 thugs into communities not equipped to deal with them.

So you’re suggesting we should have troop buildups to handle 1000 people? Huh?

And we’ll want to remember MS-13 started in LA prisons... spread, yes, but Made in America.

That is to prevent the military from enforcing domestic policy. I don't know that preventing what would essentially be a group of foreign nationals encroaching on our border would be considered domestic policy. After all, military aircraft enforce our ADIZ on a daily basis.

How do you confirm their foreign nationals? Could be a US citizen returning from spring break.

And frankly, I’m not sure I’d trust DOD units to know the difference (or be very good at it).

Unless things have changed, if folks are south of thr border, no reason to assume them to be US Nationals, once they crossed the border and if the border crossing is observed, Title 10 force can follow them until LEO arrives, if a group of people are found north of the border (this is where my memory fails me as it was almost 20years ago when my active duty unit supported Counter Drug mission) Title 10 force can’t stop them, but observe and report. I am sure lawyers will have fun as in certain states National Guard can perform LEO duties if they are activated with the governor’s authority, so what if the Federal government transfer the money to the state (I am not talking about Title 32 502F).
Another question is what action can title 10 force take to prevent someone from crossing the border? Some would argue that is law enforcement, whereas as I would argue it is national defense.

My point. Putting aside liking or disliking the POTUS, we built forts along our Northern border to prevent “illegal crossings”.

Talked to a Border Patrol friend yesterday. Best thing the military could do is send mechanics to work on their vehicles.

Talked to myself today. I am thinking I might not have any Border Patrol experience but a good undergraduate education, years of military experience, and a couple of masters degrees tell me that the military could do a better things than send mechanics to work on BP vehicles. Also, if your Border Patrol friend have any practical knowledge of the military, he or she should know that majority, if not all military mechanics, are not trained to fix commercial vehicles.

My Mom never allowed "the boarding house reach".
It was always "please pass the potatoes".

Senior Border Patrol friend.... and they’ve already pretty coded mechanical support.

Sometimes the answer to a problem involving an underfunded agency isn’t to send an overfunded agency but to properly fund the first agency.

You know that site is satirical, right?

If so, I'm giving you a like for having a dry sense of humor. ;)

I also have to add that there's no way that guy in the photo could make weight and tape.
He looks like he may have eaten someone standing in line, there.
Get in ma belly!

Leppe must have been sleeping in English class, of course the spelling and grammar I see on the internet everyday is appalling.
