Hello everyone,
I’m a candidate for USMA and USNA class of 2022. I am currently nominated under this service connected nom (my father is a disabled veteran). I was wondering if there is any other people on this forum who have experience with this source and how I may match up against previous appointees.
My stats Are SAT 1270(only took it once not very popular in my state),ACT31,gpa 3.87 top5%, varsity cross country and track and football. Lots of leadership and community service. Don’t remember my exact cfa scores but everything was above the average except sit-ups which i only did 65.

There are about 600 service connected nominations given, but only about 100 will receive an appointments. Also, is your father a retired or career servicemember? Because I don't believe that a disabled veteran only is sufficient to qualify. Is this the only nomination you have?

It is the only nomination I have. This is a seperate slate. There is an unlimited number of noms. however, only 60 slots at the academy. The SDVET is for children of deceased or 100% service connected disabled veterans.

Good Morning;
The SD/Vet kids swim in a tiny pool. Each year fewer than 100 SD/VET kids apply and if you read on line between 5-10 are selected.
You are not competing against the 600, probably against 40.

@Futurecowboy99 Your nomination is enough. You will be reviewed and judged by people who understand the challenges of applying in that category.
Best wishes with your medical waiver.
