TWE

Yes, sad and relieved at the same time. Plan B can now be my DS' focus. Best of luck to those still waiting!

To those of you who received a TWE this morning, I can promise you that if USAFA is what you really want your journey is not over. I too received a TWE last year. I was devastated. However, I took an honest look at my application and saw what areas needed improvement. I decided to self prep at MMI this year and honestly it was probably one of the best decisions of my life, no kidding. I know that if I am blessed with an appointment this year I will be way more prepared compared to if I had went straight out of high school. Additionally, I met some great friends this year that I will have for a lifetime. This year was a tremendous opportunity for me. I'm not going to lie, the next few days might be tough. However, IT WILL BE OKAY!

Please feel free to PM me with any questions about MMI, self prepping, reapplying, or anything else!

DS got his this morning. I think he was leaning towards VMI (Army) regardless but now that choice has become easier. Good luck to all who were accepted.

Do you already have an appointment? What will you do next year if the twe comes?

DS rec'd TWE this morning as well. He was already leaning toward his Plan B anyway so this just solidified it for him. He was quiet and solemn for about 3 minutes and by the time he left for school he was actually in a better mood than he has been all week. I think he is relieved it is decided.

Brand new here and to this whole process, but the TWE came for son today....tough - he has a 4.1GPA and a 1430SAT, NHS Board, JROTC honors, 2 congressional noms....hard to take
> what is MMI?
> are there schools that look to TWEs as a source for scholarships? It would seem that the AFA did a deep scrub and schools would look for these cream of the crop kids....
> What is the process get into the Falcon or the Prep School?
> He is already accepted at Embry Riddle and Texas A&M with a $72K scholarship, but if he picks E/R, his scholarships converts to a 3 year(??) while TAMU is a four year deal. Does E/R have a way to soften the tuition blow the first year - it is substantial even after he got a $60k ($15K/year)
Opinions matter - thanks for yours!

She received hers today. She's happy to have plan B moving forward. Congrats and best of luck to the 2018 Cadets!

No, I haven't heard back yet. However, if I receive a TWE I will enlist and try and get in through the LEAD Program!

When you receive the TWE, does that mean you are also no longer eligible for a Falcon Scholarship?
