Does anyone have experiences/opinions to share on Army ROTC at University of Pittsburgh? (looking for things in general, but particularly if enter as college programmer)

Son had a 4 yr scholarship to Pitt a few years ago. The program seemed to be top notch and we were impressed with all of the leadership there. He ended up at West Point but would have been happy at Pitt as well. He loved the “vibe” in Oakland.

We live in Pittsburgh and Pitt is the only place my son will go. He luckily received a 4 year scholarship, however he is on the waiting list for the fall, with a guaranteed spring admission. We are hoping as is he, that he gets the fall spot.
We really loved the ROO at Pitt. We have met him several times and every single thing he has said has turned out to be true. My son turned down Temple and Penn State.

ROO (can I say names?) is a fantastic guy. Very on top of things, responds quickly to questions and really cares about the kids. My son was not accepted to main campus but ROO is fighting for him with admissions but he's got a tough major that is very selective. We really enjoyed ROTC facilities and amenities as well.

I totally agree. He goes to bat for the kids. My son keeps up with emails and he responds back so fast with everything. He made this whole process so easy to work with. I have no problem knowing that my son will be in good hands. When the ROO interviewed my son, he asked that I be there also. He likes to meet the parents and get to know them. The Temple ROO was also fantastic, however the Penn State ROO wasn't so good.

The ROO at Pitt gave us so much assistance and good guidance during the application process -- knowing full well that our son wasn't even applying to Pitt! He's wonderful -- and his advice was spot on, our son did receive a scholarship.

Without naming names, can anyone say if the Army ROTC ROO that everyone speaks highly about on this thread is still there? (maybe send me a PM?)

I sure hope he is still there. But yes, as of last week he was definitely there as he sent my son an email in follow up to a question.
