He requested the transfer last week and as of today, no response. Should I call the school he wants to transfer TO, the one he wants to transfer FROM, or the National AROTC program directly? Or am I just being impatient?

@tlatrice How was the request for transfer submitted? Did you upload the document? I was told this was the quickest way. It took about a week for the approval to show online.

He uploaded it. So maybe he should give it another day or two? I was just wondering was there something else he was supposed to do.

He's way more patient about this than I am...:p I'm on pins and needles!

I’m the same way. I’d give it a few more days then have him check in with your tech if you don’t hear back.

Anyone else still waiting for AROTC school transfer decision? DS uploaded request on portal on 4/12. Just curious if anyone else is still waiting also?

Still waiting on the transfer request for my DD also. She uploaded the request on March 15th and still no word on approval. It could be taking longer than normal since the transfer is to a school outside of her original list of 7. It's really getting down to the wire because she is required to pay a non-refundable admission deposit holding her place in school on May 1 which is early next week. She contacted the ROO and has not yet gotten a response.

My son submitted his transfer request at the beginning of the month and it was approved the same week. We had previously contacted the ROO and knew that they had scholarship slots available.

It is my understanding that the approvals take longer from mid-April on due to the increase in requests. Additionally, it is important to talk to the ROO at the school your DS/DD wants to transfer to, ask if there are still open scholarship slots. The ROO will be able to help you understand if there will be any challenges or issues with the transfer. Good luck!

OP here. My son's transfer was finally approved on 4/23. I'm shocked that some are still waiting from March!

I hope good news comes to all of you soon.

Now he's just got to get through the DODMERB...o_O

UPDATE: My daughter applied for her transfer in Mid March and just got approval on May 4th. She had to commit to her school of choice on May 1 so we had to take a leap of faith that at some point, the transfer would go through as she would not be able to afford the tuition without the ROTC scholarship. It was a long wait and we are relieved that it went through. I was starting to have my doubts because the ROO was pretty tight lipped about the status when we inquired, perhaps because he didn't have any information from Cadet Command to pass on.

Now just one last hurdle to get her medical waiver from the Army. She'll be doing a stress/breathing test in a couple days but I'm confident that she'll do fine on that but as with everything, I'm sure it will take time for the test results to be evaluated and the waiver granted.
