April: and you are still waiting...

Just for clarification, will the candidate receive a TWE prior to an AOG offer or does admission just offer the AOG without first sending a TWE?
I don’t know the answer to that. DS accepted the AOG offer and never received a TWE.. I have no idea if that is the norm or not.

It may seem like a pointless question but might as well. Are there appointments being offered at this point? The 3q letter said until May 1st but things can change and the appointment thread hasn't moved. Any info is much appreciated! Thank you.

YES! There are appointments being offered at this point. You wrote this at noon on Tuesday.
You have to give the appointment board time to act.
Last week three appointments were reported on 11, 12 and 14 April.
Now it is a week later: 18 April.

Until you receive a TWE, you simply do not know. It is best to have a rock solid Other Plan A (with your Army ROTC Scholarship--because after all, you applied to West Point because you want to be a leader of soldiers/Army Officer.) Make that college deposit so you are not left without a seat when the music stops in a couple of weeks.

It is normal to hear nothing and then either get a TWE or a BFE. Schrodinger's Candidate...right?

This is the point in the year where you cannot lose faith. Faith in yourself and faith in your ability to pursue your dream. Your faith does not translate into a TWE or BFE, but it can give you the clarity and patience to get through two more weeks of not knowing. Still with you in spirit.

According to the West Point Parents liaison as of today 820 slots in the class of 2022 have been accepted. So there appears to still be some class building going on.

Good luck to all still waiting. If you are still in the game at this point you obviously have a lot to be proud of regardless of the outcome.

Does this account for the roughly 200 prepsters?

I just want to thank all of you who post such good, accurate, positive and uplifting information on this thread! My DD is still waiting to hear. She has received a 4 year AROTC scholarship and an academic presidential scholarship to her plan “B”. What an awsome plan “B”! I must admit that it still doesn’t take much stress out of the waiting game. Proud father in either outcome! God bless u all and may all your dreams come true!

I hate to admit that I’m beginning to give up hope, even though I’m pretty sure nobody has been selected yet from our district. My DS has school, work and Rugby to keep him busy, I have a cast and unable to move on my own, so way too much time on my hands. If you really want to drive yourself nuts, get Informed Delivery from the post office. Every morning at 7:30, I open my email to see that nothing has come. And then I thank God that there is no TWE. What a life! You’ve got to laugh!

@Peter Kim (if that is your real name, you should change you handle in SAF, write to one of the super moderators) Congrats. Things are still happening. Not over yet.
@WAPatriot UWashington on Army ROTC! That sounds like a great plan!

Like others have mentioned, hang in there. We had all but given up, until last night when our DD received a call from our congressman. The wait is so worth it.
She received an appointment to the USMA. Good luck to everyone still waiting. What a journey this has been for our entire family and friends.
P.S. She never gave up!

So, April 21st...and you are still here, still Schrodinger's Cadet Candidate.
There is still an entire week of April before us. The Appointments process must be in overdrive to complete the class of 2022.
My #3's BFE did not arrive on the doorstep on 24 April last year. He had no warning that it was coming, no phone call, no correspondence.
If you are still waiting, just stay positive and consider all possibilities. Do not be afraid to commit to your Other Plan A--even if it you risk losing $300--although if you receive an appointment before 1 May, you can email the Other Plan A and request a refund, with the knowledge that some happy student will rise up off the waiting list.
Have a great weekend.

So last year when the BFE arrived on April 24, your son had not heard from his MOC nor had his portal updated?
What an amazing surprise!

What does the “schrodingers cadet” reference mean?
