AIM Decisions Released

stay positive wait listed

last year they opened session 3 for waitlisted folks
Three sessions were open last year from the very beginning. People sign up on a first come, first served basis.

My older DS, currently c/o 2021 at USAFA was accepted to AIM and choose not to attend. Younger brother, nearly identical stats, really wants to attend AIM and was waitlisted. I hope he gets in. Who knows why they pick who they pick but I do think they are all getting more competitive. Congrats to those who got in and to those rejected or waitlisted work harder to improve your application. Good luck to all!

yes but session 3 then opened for wait-listers

You mean that when waitlisted kids were offered a spot, the only spots left were in session 3? That may be accurate - I don't know - but I do know all 3 sessions were open to accepted kids from the very beginning. Your post made it sound like they opened a 3rd session for kids on the waitlist, which is inaccurate and might give false hope to those on the waitlist.

accepted kids could choose any of the 3 sessions.... a few weeks later they opened only session 3 to waitlisted kids. probably the only one that did not fill up

Waitlisted....got accepted to SLE and NASS though and didn’t even apply to the Air Force one because I didn’t realize they had an earlier deadline

DS got waitlisted, accepted at USNASS. Does anyone know how they notify the waitlisted folks and how quickly they have to accept? I'm wondering if he will need to obsessively check.

I am attending USAFA Summer Seminar Session June 11-15 and I am attending AIM July 15-20. I was rejected for NASS and West Point SLE.

It stings when you are rejected and I used it as motivation on my training. I am going to Arkansas Girls State, as well as University of Arkansas Track Camp. I am getting my mile time down below 7:30 and trying to get my pull ups more than 5 for CFA. Keep motivated and pushing forward!

I was rejected... I actually almost punched a hole through my classroom wall I was so mad, but good luck to those who are waitlisted and those who were accepted I wish you the best and I hope you really want this as bad as I do.
Two summers ago DS was rejected by USNA summer seminar and Air Force summer seminar but was accepted to AIM. I wouldn’t read too much into it. Instead put your focus into things you can control like improving test scores and grades and physical fitness.

Waitlisted as well. I will be attending NASS Session 1 and SLE Session 2, though. Still hoping to have an opportunity to attend AIM.

DD was declined but she will be headed to Navy and AF summer seminar!! Congratulations everyone accepted!!

Don't take it to heart. For people who don't attend AIM, the spots for Cadet for A Day are offered first and then opened to everyone else. Ultimately, it's just to see if the academy is right for you and it puts you through a mock swab summer...which is only an example of seven weeks out of the four years.

It's well known the system is a lottery and doesn't matter during the application process (because it's for you). I was denied for AIM and received an appointment.

You mind sharing your numbers, gpa act/pre-act, Leadership etc...trying to figure out what n who gets accepted or turn down.
