Class Of 2022 USMMA DIY Appointment Thread

We are in the same boat as Russiansquid
“Qualified not selected”
Will return to Marion Military Institute for a second year and reapply to class of 2023
Txhope- can you dm me? i cant seem to send to you and have a couple questions.

My DS status changed from HOLD to Qualified Not Selected. Back to Marion Military Institute for another try.

Well my DS got the dreaded "qualified but not accepted" status change. On to plan B, C or D. Really not sure best option at this point 4yr and ROTC (did not do any scholarship paperwork), NMMI in Nm or MMI in AL.
at least it did not drag into june i guess.

So sorry horsecountry. I was pulling for you. You should be very proud of your DS (and yourself as a parent) for making it this far. Best wishes in whatever path he chooses.

@horsecountry sorry to hear. Yeah, plan B's and C's and D's are looking more and more like realities.......Sorry, your DS did get ROTC scholarship? My DS did as well. What service, what school? Thanks

Would it be appropriate to update the appointment thread and add a "HOLD" category?

I'm sorry to hear about this. So late in the game as well. Have you considered SUNY Maritime? It's a really neat place and their grads outearn USMMA on average (but it's close). Same industry.

SUNY costs over $95,000 for the degree

USMMA has consistently ranked in the TOP 3 over the last few years. Jockeying for the position with MIT.
SUNY is ranked # 5 in colleges and #12 in Engineering

"Engineers of all types are in demand, and almost all can expect to receive high salaries. But if you want to set yourself up for real financial success, you want to choose a college that has a proven track record for producing alumni who receive a solid return on their education investment."
