High School Award Ceremony

My son received his $180,000 check last night! The Marines came and it was so awesome. They talked about what sort of student received this award, and how competitive it was. He was one of only 7 recipients in the 4th District this year. They mentioned this year was a very small class across the board for Marine Options.

Oh, and the coolest thing was that DS received the ONLY standing ovation of the night, and many people were tearing up.

We have great memories of the ceremonies for our kids... 4 years ago and 2 years ago.. the one from 4 years ago Commissions and graduates from USAFA in a few days. His younger brother just finished 2nd year at WP and will be there for his older brother...may even be his first salute after commissioning.

We had the same experience in 2013 for DS1 and again last year from DS2...standing O's and tearing up....incredible experience...congrats!
